Nothing is ever quick is it, they could even drag out signing me till deadline day and I probably wouldn’t even negotiate terms
Spoke to a Sunderland fan at work about him today and he said the same thing. Said he thought it was unfortunate that it didn’t work out better for him and them but he did a decent job under the circumstances.
To be fair, the comments I'd seen were on Twitter and we all know how reactionary they can be (see comments on this tweet as an example). This one is more recent and shows exactly what you've said. Glad he's found his feet and settled - always a good pro for us.
You're just bitter because the didn't sign their life insurance documents and wills. The views expressed in my posts are not necessarily mine.
Bedia is done either way. At least 1 striker will come and Ruben has already shown a preference to TSF last week. He’ll be back to Berlin or sat in his hotel room in town on a Saturday.
What I'm curious about is Gelhardt seemingly being the only striker we're linked to, but we've felt one striker light all season, so having one out one in would still feel light. Perhaps there's a confidence that Pedro has shown enough to lead the line for the rest of the season? You'd want to hope there's no further injuries to the squad though..
Normally three strikers plus an academy player is enough. Main issue with our strikers was quality rather than quantity. We finished the summer transfer window with just Bedia and Burstow and let’s face it, Pedro was us scraping the barrel to sign a free agent. He’s been great but he wouldn’t be here if we actually sorted out the striker issue before deadline day. I don’t think we’ll get a marquee striker signing in January. Going by Acun’s record, I doubt we’ll ever get one. He said he wouldn’t skimp on a striker but we’ve not signed this big money striker in every window he’s been owner.
I think they'll bring a couple in as I completely agree. But I think the club will be very wary about over promising and under delivering in that department after past windows. I don't mind Gelhardt, it's sort of the level I was expecting but he was a young player with a massive reputation.
I thought we were supposed to be in for Tom Cannon, It's a weird one, seeing as he's doing well at Stoke. Also, wasn't the picture of the player in the dugout suspected to be Emmanuel Dennis?
Tom Cannon is a little optimistic, don't you think? I've not seen those links from a credible source this window either
We were in for Cannon in the summer but he went to Stoke, I don't think there's been any suggestion we're back in for him?
