Just like Mepham was - Le Fee is the sort of signing I’d be comfortable with making if in the PL, never mind the championship.
Less than 4 years ago we drew 2-2 with gillingham and had a midfield two of a ready to retire Leadbitter and Josh Scowen. Now we’re talking about maybe signing this lad and wondering if he’s worth it because of our existing wonderkid players. ****ing mental.
Actually this was a different awful draw at home to gillingham. A last minute equaliser from them. Aiden O’Brien and Charlie Wyke as a front two in a 4-4-2 shape with Jack Diamond and Aiden McGeady on the wings. Scowen and Ledbetter in centre mid. Max Power right back. Minging. And just to show you how far he’s come. Luke O’Nien as an unused sub.
Yes , last minute equaliser which cost us a play off place on points per game. Just think if he had missed we would still have Parkinson as manager! An example of one step back to go ten miles forward.
this was a different one with Lee Johnson as manager!! that’s too many turgid draws with gillingham for any club let alone Sunderland
No it was Parky, last home game before lockdown. http://www.thestatcat.co.uk/Match.aspx?MatchID=6950&LU=S&LUID=144
This is the game you were talking about. http://www.thestatcat.co.uk/Match.aspx?MatchID=6985&LU=S&LUID=145 I got the wrong track when someone mentioned Mandron, getting two goals. Either way the difference from either of those sides we put out, to the quality we have now and those we are linked with is just unbelievable?
I think Mepham is the prime example of why we should always be looking to improve.. if you said Ballard would be replaced at the start of the season our fans would’ve had a meltdown because he was our best CB. Mepham has came in and looks to be twice the defender from what we’ve seen so far. Sometimes I get the impression we would be about to sign Luis Diaz and our fans would whinge that Mundle won’t get as much game time. We are a championship team and every single player in that squad is replaceable by better players. Do I want to see it happen? Of course not, but there’s thousands of better footballers out there than what we have on the pitch currently.
