Do we even have any players to rotate? Raya Timber Kiwior Gabriel MLS Partey Odegaard Trossard Havertz Martinelli Jesus Give Saliba and Rice a rest at least.
It's a cup semi-final against a very good side, I don't think we can afford to rotate. Especially with the absences we have. If we still had Nwaneri, Tomiyasu, White, Sterling etc available, I'd maybe be fine with rotating across defence and attack. But we don't. It's not ideal, but we need to go as strong as possible. I don't fancy us in the second leg at SJP.
Arteta's said he's got a muscular injury and is out for a few weeks. The problem is, right now, a few weeks could mean he misses 7/8 games. Getting all these injuries at such a crucial stage of the season is far from ideal. It also means we simply need to look at options in the transfer market now. Down to the bare bones atm.
You won't get a better chance to win at our gaff than tomorrow evening. Your boys had better be up for it. Could be a chance to get one foot in the final. Would be an opportunity missed if you don't take it tbh.
Haven't won a trophy since 1955, massive chance to get past an injury-hit and ill, low-confidence Arsenal team for a domestic cup final, but 'it's an opportunity to rest a few players'? Yeah right. You lot are going all out for this tie.
Arsenal XI: Raya, Lewis-Skelly, Gabriel, Saliba, Timber, Partey, Rice, Trossard, Odegaard, Martinelli, Havertz. Subs: Porter, Tierney, Kiwior, Zinchenko, Calafiori, Jorginho, Merino, Sterling, Jesus. Decent line up and bench considering the inuries. Only issue is the Martinelli/Trossard wings, rather Martinelli be on the left but we have to make do!
The worst part is, Arteta is going to field a really strong side in the second leg when it's a dead rubber, players are gonna get knackered and then we'll lose ground in other games we have. To be fair, by that point, the season could end up being a formality and we may not have anything to play for. But yeah, I can foresee it happening and it's gonna piss me off.
You want me to argue back on this lol? Because I won't. We are terrible. Saw this result coming a mile away.
