They're in trouble, that's for sure. They'll likely squeak to safety on account of their being 3 worse teams, but it's a mighty fall from grace.
Five questions. How were Luton promoted? How did they win a single PL point? How upset would you be if they went down? How will they ever fill a bigger stadium? How will they ever attract a decent player?
0-3 Forest. Ruthless performance, can't believe Wolves haven't scored. Had their chances and been punished.
Incredible what Forest are doing. Got some lovely players mind, got to credit Nuno he is nailing it there. Easy to Forget how phenomenal he was at Wolves for an extended period.
Hope Forest can get into Europe. Really like their squad, the recruitment over the last 18 months or so has been excellent.
I remember people talking about them building a 'championship super team' when they were in the PL, pretty sure I was one of them as well. That lineup today is relegation fodder.
luton, kept playing third div stuff and managed to sneak a promotion, everyone knew what was coming...they seem to be trying to be 'different' but it wont work, they are who they are and a lucky promotion will not change that.
Their recruitment has been poor in the last 2 windows at least, signings CBs like Holmes and Andersen when you have PL money is poor - they are bottom of the championship CBs. I don't mind Chong but I also think he's massively overrated, he works hard but goes missing too often in games. How well they did this season was going ti be down to the 2 lads up front, adebayo did really well in the PL but he was actually poor the season they got promoted. I think because they actually did better in the PL than most expected their players have been held in a higher regard than they should be. Their recruitment in the summer was shocking for a relegated side. Losing ogbene was a lost for them, he has that pace that can really hurt teams at this level
VAR and in-stadium announcement trial to be used in Carabao Cup Semi-Finals VAR will be in place for this season’s Carabao Cup Semi-Finals, along with the first use of in-stadium VAR announcements in English football. As part of the trial, referees will announce (over the stadium public address system) the final decision following a visit to the VAR pitchside monitor, or upon the conclusion of factual matters such as accidental handball by a goalscorer or offside judgements. Only the final decision will be announced in the stadium. In-stadium VAR announcements have already been successfully introduced in several FIFA events, including the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup, and aim to provide greater clarity and understanding around key decisions to supporters in the stadiums and those watching from home. The new pilot forms part of PGMOL’s broader commitment to transparency and embracing technological advancements for the benefit of Match Officials and fans. This latest pilot has the support of the EFL and follows earlier collaboration with PGMOL in 2018 to trial VAR in EFL competitions ahead of its introduction in the Premier League. The trial will run over both legs of the Arsenal v Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur v Liverpool Semi-Final ties, with the first legs taking place at the Emirates Stadium on Tuesday 7th January and at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Wednesday 8th January. The winner of each tie will progress to the Final which will take place at Wembley on Sunday 16th March.
