It’d be completely different if it said there’s a release clause in his contract a “gentleman’s agreement “ is different we might have said in the summer oh 20 million + is fair we’ll let you go for that. but In that time he has come on leaps and bounds. What we think is fair is ever changing
I think @SourPatch2 had it right. They bought Gray for £40m on a long contract (can amortise that fee over the duration of contract), whilst also selling Rodon as part of the same agreement for £10m, which they can realise in their accounts immediately. It was creative accounting. I think the biggest lesson is that comparing fees is pointless because there are way way way too many variables and dynamics within every transfer
I wonder who the championship clubs are Good player and very versatile, would bring lots of experience to whoever he joined
I can defo see a scenario of Jobe going to Arsenal for £25m. Can’t see it being in Jan though, as others have said it’s better for his development to be the summer, an Arsenal would likely see it the same. Equally could see him loaned back for the season should we be promoted
Honestly think we need to do our best possible to get a good sell on fee with Jobe. Could be worth massive amounts in the future.
Sale to Arsenal this month,.then loaned back to the end of the season? With this fee fella being brought in at the same time to ease himself in for when jobe departs?
Think a sell on is more important if he goes to Dortmund or Palace. If he went to Arsenal I’d be looking at straight cash or payments on appearances etc.
I can see this. le fee played the 6 or a left sided midfielder for RLB. Basically he can play neil or jobes role or even riggs tbf
Yep, I suggested this when @Prehab26 was talking about Dan Neil's contact situation. Le Fee could be cover for either.
Mad that we talking about Enzo Le Fee ‘covering’. Not 4 years since we had Maguire and Max Power. Speakman is ****.
It’s succession planning really. loan with an option, obligation if we go up if we go up you get a top tier level player with the money we make if we don’t go up it’s likely one of the big midfielders leave and we generate the potential fee anyway
Jobe will move when it is best for him and will help him progress as a player. There is a not a chance he's going to a top club to sit on the bench. But I don't think he'd be far away from starting with rice and odegaard at arsenal. Both top players and Bellingham is on his way to becoming one too. His next move is huge for him though as he's developing so fast here with us he won't it to stall by picking the wrong club
