They don't seem to be up to a relegation scrap. Parachute payment spend may well change that.

They don't seem to know whether to boot it or try and play a bit. They played some reasonable football at times last season, but Barkley played most of the games and now it's Marvellous in there, who isnt.

    They’re shot to bits

Would be fantastic to see them drop, again

I'd be up for seeing Luton go down again, I don't think I'm bitter towards them from a Sunderland perspective but I don't like them. Got some decent teams on either side of them in the table and safety is far from guaranteed.

Presumably they've got some money to spend, but in their position getting players in who are both good enough to have an instant impact, and who are also invested in the club and the relegation battle is virtually impossible.

my worry is will they have lost 12 on the trot before they come here, and knowing us what might happen, we owe them for that 2nd leg match has well last May.

Never really had a problem with Luton, even had a little soft spot for them as a kid because of Eric Morecambe and the old orange with the black and white stripe down the left side was one of the first non Sunderland kits I had as a kid, but that play off second leg turned me right off them. Their fans behaviour and going on about "the Kenny" and then the media crawling after them are enough to give me a good laugh at them struggling right now.

You'd assume they'll spend now the window is open.

They wouldn't have got past us if we hadn't had a patched up defence.

Very true. They were a bunch of thugs in the second semi final game. They had big physical players unlike our more athletic and talented ones. But we were on the bones of our arse injury wise by then.

Aye. It was the worst possible opponent we could have faced with our injuries.

Bullied their way out of the league, which fair play to them it worked. But the Championship has gotten stronger and they can't get away with that now.

Even Edwards knows their style of play will likely end up in a relegation battle, thats why he tried to change it. But they don't have the players for any other style of football and he got stick from their fans who seem to prefer hoofball.

Hate them ,I would have Chung mind but their one dimensional style of play hump, bump jump lump is efficient but an insult to football.
That semi final loss still hurts we had them on the ropes beat in the first leg but eased off and settled for a one goal lead , Moggas worst moment imo.,
Roberts and Gooch defending against that lot was a joke, love to see justice dione and them relegated to their true level L1.

To be honest I’ve nothing against them but not concerned if they get relegated again.

Not sure I agree. We created nothing in the 2nd leg, that wasn’t down to the defence.

It largely was, mate. We were constantly under pressure and never able to get any kind of hold on the ball to try and play our way in. A more solid defence would have held out longer and given us a chance o get some ball and try and create something. At the very least it could have frustrated them and let them punch themselves out against us.

Anyway, it's all ifs and hads now, we'll never know.
