Agreed. Just hope it is a bad game rather than off field stuff getting to him

We shouldn't be surprised by how Utd played. When Sir Alex was winning everything occasionally poorish Liverpool teams would go to Old Trafford and win.

As I said above... When he's good, he's great... But he has lots of "bad games" too. He had a month long stretch of bad games earlier this season.

I don't know why he can't always be good... Why, sometimes he is lethal with the pass and sometimes he isn't. He's definitely usually a first team starter, but there are times when Slot should just substitute him after the first 45.

Trent at the start of the season said he wanted slot to make him a better defender. I don’t think he has gotten better at defending this season. I don’t think he has been great this season. I am not saying he has been bad just not up to his high standards. The games he has been good has been more for his passing then his defending. It has been more noticeable last couple of months he often walks or at most jogs back when beaten or caught out of position.

I think i have made my views on Trent quite clear i.e. he can't be bothered with actual defending

2 occasions today he could’ve realistically blocked a cross but made no attempt, it’s ****ing infuriating tbh

thats not just this season but the last 2 of JK's
the first few weeks of this season was his best defensive performances for some time but then instead of playing RB he has been allowed to wander off into MF and he then seems to think defensive work is beneath him

I was wondering how the TAA inquest would go. To me it showed that his mind is elsewhere. Bradley should now start.

I shake my head when I read that he says he wants to be the best RB in the world - I think he's delusional tbh. He has undoubted talents, but defending isn't one of them - at least not to the level required to be considered the best.
I said weeks ago that although he'd started the season much better, holding his position more instead of wandering off, that the old habits had crept back in.
I think because his passing range is so good he gets a free pass from a lot of fans and pundits, but if he's meant to be a defender he has to be able - and willing - to do the less glamorous job of defending.

Don't know about you, but whenever I’ve had to do any sort of performance - or anything that requires concentration on the task in hand, other distractions get put to the back of my mind.
I don't see it as much of an excuse tbh. It's not like it's a massive worry like Diaz's kidnap crisis - it just comes across as cba to me.

One thing that was very noticeable was the run of the ball today.

It seemed like every ball that ran loose fell to a white shirt.

I was worried about today because we have looked lost in the last few games.
That said, Amorim stated on Thurs/Friday that the squad had managed to get the first two full day's training with him since he arrived and now understood the system/requirements better.
I think it showed and am looking for more improvement in future to show this game was not just a one off.

Thought we looked well off the pace today. Actually thought utd were the better team, not seen us concede so many chances and lack any kind of pressing. Missed Szlozobai, Jones was ****.

Trent could have cleared this up by saying he wants to stay and he is currently in contract negations to do that.

Virgil and Mo haven’t had an issue saying they want to stay.

Another thing I find interesting is that out of the three players, Virgil , Trent & Mo, Trent’s new contract details are the only one that have been given any form of substance in the media with this £78m 5yr deal.

I have no idea about either Virgil & Mo. Only thing I know about Mo’s situation is that they’re far apart.

if someone can leak Trent’s supposed new deal from the clubI would have thought someone would have spread titbits about what Mo or Virgil is asking for or what the club is offering to them.

That's the thing - we all knew you'd be up for this game, so now you have to show the same level of commitment when the motivation isn't as obvious.

Had to improve for you eventually, you couldn't always stay in the slump you have been in recently... Shame you came back into form against us and couldn't have waited a week or two longer.
