First half where we’ve had to sustain a lot of Fulham pressure, but put in a real committed, disciplined defensive display. The McKenna masterplan working at the the moment. A moment of Broadhead brilliance and Szmodics in the right place at the right time have given us the lead. All in all, a good team display. But special mentions for Johnson - my man of the match so far - Woolfenden, and Greaves. Top defensive performances, so far, from them.
Yes Gaffer, he’s had a groin sprain I think. We are missing his dribbling skills and his link up play with Delap. But Szmodics got the goal and his defensive work-rate has been more than adequate for this game. Broadhead also putting out a strong first half, deserved to get the assist for that ball in leading to the goal.
Second half and still keeping shape fairly well. But some gaps and mistakes creeping in. Fulham made a change at half-time to replace their third centre back with Smith-Rowe. Couple more of their subs on.
Really poor from Morsy there. Undone what was a solid defensive performance which just a needless, completely mistimed challenge. Not sure what he was thinking.
Now we’ve got a penalty! Delap goes down fairly easily but makes the quick turn and initiates clear contact.
Broadhead and Johnson off for Jack Clarke and Burns respectively. Two of our better performers off - they were tiring and had been booked - massive ten odd minutes for the team.
Gonna have to try hold on for a point here. Not got much faith in the subs. Lot of tired bodies out there too. Davis case in point for the foul, sticks out a tired leg and trips the Fulham player. Poor penalty to give away.
