What I did notice today was Alfie Jones waltzing up the pitch on a number of occasions. Turning inside instead of one down the line and finding someone in the middle. Maybe RS has encouraged him to do his.
Jones for me has had his best games in a city shirt when alongside a leader at the back, like Greaves, someone to follow and dominate, today, and over the past game or 2 actually, hes been the one to take the lead and dominate, almost like Selles has challenged him, and I thought he was head and shoulders above the other 3 in terms of ability on the ball and willingness to have it at his feet and play out calmly.
Jones has looked more like his former self since Selles came in for sure. Really impressed by Jacob today. Looking forward to seeing what Puerta and Alzate can do against lesser sides. It was a really good team performance against perhaps the best side we’ve seen at the MKM this season. Im really encouraged and we look a much better side than we did a month ago. We are picking up points consistently now. That’s a really promising change.
That was right in front of me in the North stand. It was very close indeed but he did an amazing job. Also Pandur stopping it going out for a corner.
It's mad to think, not that all these should 100% be goals, but I think any footballer at this level would hope to score them, and if he does, he's on six goals for the season. He's developing a real knack for it so if he can just fix things, whether it's composure, technique or confidence then he can come on to a whole new level.
He's some extended highlights... 1. I'm still not sure the Leeds defender didnt get something on Slaters chance... 2. Macca clearances off the line at 1-0 3. We were really unlucky with the second. Kamaras knick on the ball wrong footed 6/7 players. 4. Puerta... you have to shoot... 5. On the Pandur blob, Macca is screaming at him to go long left to Jacob,,,,
hadn't appreciated at the walk out that the players with mascots had all given them their walk on jackets to wear, such a great touch when it's baltic
I saw that and thought, why on earth don't they give the kids a tracksuit top to begin with when it's so cold .
my lads done it twice now, ****ing Baltic both times.....they get given a full kit but yeah nowt else....they're all so hyped tho that they don't want to wear anything over the kits!
An absolutely insane series of missed chances, I actually think today was the 2nd easiest, after swansea edit....maybe the weds chance was easier.....easiest to hardest for me below, think the pne one is one you can understand him skying it, the wba one he's reaching and not guaranteed to keep down....the other 3 tho, eep. Swansea weds today wba pne
That back four played out really well last season though. They can do it. McLoughlin less so, which is partly why he's a backup player.
Fantastic confidence boosting come back and two superb goals for Kamara, but what about that assist from young Burstow for his first, that pass over the top right into Kamara’s path was literally world class.
We had the kids and grandkids over and they were just leaving as TWS scored their third, so they were all saying that was it then but I just said “you never know, stranger things have happened”. I just felt that we had it in us to get something, even at that late stage. The Kamara situation and his two goals today are just the sort of thing that makes us all love football the way we do. Brilliant performance all round, players and management. Absolutely loved it!
one of our frustrations this season and last had been the number of times city don't play balls into the acres of space behind defences. No need to play it to feet, but hit the space and let strikers run onto the ball. That was exactly what Burstow did - great goal in very entertaining game. Well done City.
