He has pace.. that's it. And he doesn't even show that anymore. And he's lazy as ****. Unbelievable signing
Yeah people put far too much in stock in that match in what was essentially an end of season friendly.
This this this. Said it before a number of times but the amount of times Parsons said to me “the off pitch stuff is going really well”, where I kept thinking ‘mate, no fan gives much of a **** about that’.
So that was quite something. I think today really demonstrated how little effort, care or energy these players feel for this club. There isn’t a single player on that pitch, including a long server like Bednerak that I feel gives a **** that this club is going in this direction. From the minute they were stood at kick off I said to my friend that their body language looked like a team that didn’t look up for this. Then I felt like those fears were validated when in the first 5 minutes we lose the ball carelessly, do no look passes, balls are bouncing off shins. And every time play stopped hands were on hips, people looked dejected, everyone was light jogging, and more and more as the game went on the players started just arguing with each other and looking around with no clue where anyone was and where anyone was supposed to be. It really was, maybe even more so than Tottenham, a disasterclass. I don’t know if it was Russell or just the general ethos of Sports Republic is filtering through the club but the players have had every ounce of fight drilled out of them. No longer is quick tempo, fighting for 50/50s or playing to the last whistle seen as the the way to do it. Nope, slowly over the last few years it seems the message is just “being brave”, keeping the ball and meandering around the pitch and possession is perfectly acceptable and everything is fine, results are meaningless. Everyone looks like they’re waiting for someone else to do something, there is no person to turn to, no bright light, I’m not seeing the Dibbling hype at all right now either, if the game isn’t played at his pace he is out of the game. I really hoped today would be the day where we finally saw Juric’s style in full force but I instead just watched a bunch of trash players walk around probably thinking about how they want to jump ship in the Summer. It was soul destroying today, Sports Republic have ****ed this club from top to bottom, Martin sucked out all the energy and any semblence of attacking but today the players were exposed for just giving absolutely nothing against a team that hasn’t won away and played 3 ****ing days ago. This club needs an enema big time. ****ing useless. I feel bad for Juric because you could tell with him on the sidelines that he was just as baffled as us about some of the **** these players were doing.
Simply put, he might not be good enough for the PL but he is the best left sided attacker we have. Therefore he starts.
I see Saintsweb is still down. I wonder if the owner saw the score and thought "**** that I'll wait til tomorrow"
Just arrived home to my Nottingham Forest away ticket. Starting to feel like my postie is threatening me these days
One thing I did notice today was the difference in the two teams coming back out for the 2nd half. The Brentford players were doing sprints a few seconds before the start of the half. In contrast our lot were just stood meandering around. That's the difference in mentality
I mainly check it after a really bad result when it's badly taken on here and morbid curiosity makes me wonder how bad it is there.
TBF it's mainly symbolic as I could simply phone the ticket office up and say it got lost in the post if I changed my mind!
I honestly couldn't give a crap if we sold him, and he actually turns out to be a player. Just get rid. He's no good for this club. Although he's not the only one.
They don't tend to offer refunds on aways. I might have known somebody who'd have taken it but too late now
Hahaha, isn't Hugo a former employee of Saints? Think he was a player liaison or something of that ilk. I think the whole team should have been made to go up there and do the presentation as some sort of penance for their insipid display.
