Giving up at this stage is a disgrace to all those who bought season tickets, but sadly it is the best option for the club. Don't replace Cornet's loan, save the wages. Sell Onuachu, KWP, BBD and anyone else that won't help us next season. We will already be one of the most financially secure clubs in the championship next season, with a bit of planning we should have a decent amount to sort ourselves out in the summer. Sad state of affairs.
Based on what was said about him when he was appointed sounded like he was the sort of appointment we should have made after promotion. Coming into a squad with low confidence/ability and definitely relegated and trying to get them to run/press/high intensity was unlikely to work. The players aren’t going to put the work in when there is no potential reward. People talked about the immediate upturn when Poch came in but that was a completely different scenario where we still had lots to play for so the players would’ve been motivated. Professional pride goes so far but evidently they don’t care
His big mistake today was the midfield. Who on earth thinks Aribo and Ugochukwu are good enough / mobile enough to play as a 2 in the premier league? Laughable. This team would lose in the champ 9/10 times

Actually felt sorry for Les - 20 years old and trying to hold that midfield together entirely on his own. Aribo was non existent.
A total and utter gutless capitulation of professional footballers that are an embarrassment to the Saints and our fans. Last time I said "Expectations Expectations" well I certainly wasn't expecting that horrid spineless performance that deserved nothing but boos from the remaining supporters at the end. Yes I know that we are lacking quality in our squad but seriously that was next level stuff ( going the wrong way! ) it was literally like watching a half decent Premiership side playing a mid to lower Championship side who were on the most part one dimensional in attack and clueless in defence. Some of the defending at times was extraordinarily bad, weak and timid - walking off that pitch the whole team needs to feel ashamed of themselves. I don't blame Juric for his tactics but he really needs to get a grip on these players otherwise we won't reach double figures for the season - all I ask for is some fight and passion and all I see is mercenary footballers who apparently don't give two ****s and who can't wait soon enough to leave a sinking ship ( like the rats most of them are?)
I agree 100%, but in fairness to Juric, what other options did he have? Downes and Smallbone were out. Lallana clearly can't play football. Poor from recruitment (shock) to leave us so light in such a key position.
Well unfortunately we found out why three or four players have not been picked to play throughout the season. They just aren't of any useful quality. Six more points.
He can put a tackle in but agree, he needs to be playing next to someone. His defending/positioning when not just trying to win the ball on the ground is woeful, as shown with the disallowed goal and the pen he gave away Downes is a Championship player who I have my doubts about in any system that isn’t Martins (the fact he barely played for West Ham shows what a seasoned manager like Moyes thought of him at PL level) Aribo is a luxury player who you can get away with in the Championship but isn’t PL quality. Lallana can only play 10 mins and isn’t athletic enough for this system even when he was 26 let alone 36. Smallbone is not athletic enough either for a PL midfield Fernandes is a 10 not a CM So yeah we are ****ed in the midfield. There was too much to do in the summer to make this team a PL competent one and, once again, we took the route of quantity over quality. The one saving grace is we will have a good team for the Championship, whether that be with Juric or a new manager who has a pre season. If we’d signed 3/4 players for the £120m we spent they all would’ve left when we went down anyway so we’d be in the same position but with a smaller squad and therefore less Championship ready players.
And the Club needs to speak to the fans asap about this total, utter embarrassment with a massive apology, a refund of sorts and a clear intention as to the next few months. Jurić clearly cannot be expected to turn this lot round without a lot of help from the owners!!
Utter disgrace. Just got back to my car. ****ing bitter cold, and started to rain too. No idea why I stayed until the end, the ****ers on the pitch didn’t deserve it. That’s right up there with one of the very worst, gutless, pathetic performances I’ve ever sat through. And we’re ****ing spoilt for choice with those. Abysmal. Really ****ing pissed off
