Should we be worried in case Burnsie's got a release clause in his contract?

 

Yeah, he’s having a good season. Just a bit wary about a young striker who has played no higher than League One being the answer to our striker problems.

 

I always wonder what the reason is for letting players who are out of favour and the club wants rid of go out on loan instead of permanently. Why not just sell Mehlem? Why not just sell Sinik last January or the January before? Are these players really on ridiculous wages that clubs are only willing to pay a fraction of it to take them off our hands for a bit?

Not heard the guy who replaced him much but Fletcher was atrocious. Mouthful of marbles and malapropisms.

Certainly in Sinik's case it will be exactly that. We made him a marquee signing in 2022, it seems likely he's on decent money as rumoured. Everyone knows he can't stay fit and no manager ever seems to really rate him even when he's fit. So of course we want him off our wage bill as soon as possible, and of course no one else wants to pay him what we are.

We had a lot of players like this after our first PL relegation. Average players on PL contracts who were causing us a big problem financially, and we had trouble getting rid of them and had to settle for loans for some. Bullard was the main one but also Ghilas, Kilbane and others. McShane was in that category for a while too but later won a place in the team under Bruce and kept it.

 

Apparently we only paid around £750K for Mehlem. Be surprised if Paderborn can’t stump up £500K or so either now or next summer for him.

 

Good age and experience. He’d be worth a go and would maybe work well with Pedro if we ever played 2 up top

 

And they probably can but a loan is quicker and they may well be paying all of his wage. It also doesn't commit him to paderborn any longer if he ends up not wanting to go to them.

 

Get it done. He will be in huge wage.

 

Watched him against Galatasaray this year, suprised to see him signing up for a potential League One team from Europa League team.

Not a good news for us, pretty solid purchase.

 

This is one we should be trying to make happen.

 

Do you think we can get money for those players, I have a feeling we might have to pay a portion of remaining salary if we want to offload them rather than bringing money in.

 

Probably should be worried about whether his legs have gone, half-way up the west upper steps.

 

Would seem Iheanacho is Watford bound.
