"We've had a familiar voice, now are you ready for a familiar face? Welcome back (insert former player, returning on loan here)"
He was someone I thought would’ve been a decent Greaves replacement in the summer before we signed Hughes.
They made him redundant as part of a countrywide local radio restructure. He was invited back to do city commentary only but he'd have lost a lot of his redundancy so it wasn't worth it financially. Irony is, if he'd stayed as sports editor instead of moving to daytime a few years ago, then he'd probably still be there as local sport was exempt from the restructure.
He had a verbal agreement (I know) to commentate on sport three months after his contract ended. Apparently the bosses weren't too keen on his final record choice, The Lunatics Are Taking Over the Asylum, by Fun Boy Three. The views expressed in my posts are not necessarily mine.
No, Swanny is still on the BBC gravy train (wish I was). I did enjoy David Meyler’s as co-commentary a couple of seasons ago, but he’s obviously coaching the in the youth team set up now so probably wouldn’t have time.
Richard Kone at Wycombe surely worth a look. He's too good for that league, but if the worst does happen, he'll fire us straight back up
Yeah I just double checked the rules, if they’re under 21 on January 1st of the year of their 21st birthday, they’re fine.
