Never like to see people squirm but good on the lad for facing up. That couldn't have been easy for him. Manager said what he felt clearly and diplomatically. Hopefully in private, between the two of them, he spelt it out exactly what the problem was and the consequences. Also hope he told him that the only place he can really put this right is with performances on the pitch.
Kamara looked like someone in one of those hostage videos But its in the past Time for us to smash leads
This is how a proper team conducts itself. Fair play to both of them. impressive that he can sit for that long without blinking!
Only one who feels it’s a bit off dragging him out to explain it? Honestly thought it was going to be addressing the OTT abuse Abu has received since the game more generally when I saw the two together.
That was akin to a public execution. What a way to assert your authority, brings a whole new meaning to the naughty step. Yes, it was a naive thing for a young lad to do, but only 10 mins after our game, in the dressing room, his mind should have been on our game not elsewhere. Silly boy. Wouldn’t be at all surprised if he’s benched tomorrow, playing no part, & ends up being moved out in transfer window.
Amazing really how the difference in person can change general sentiment about it. Walter called out Will Jarvis (older than Abu) for a lack of effort at times and he was killed for being harsh on a young lad. Ruben brings out a player who’s made a stupid mistake, nothing worse, and done that.
Think there’s a difference in circumstances. Tim dragged Jarvis publicly not allowing him to respond. Ruben has brought Abu with him and allowed him to say his piece
Absolutely. Fronting up together to address a developing issue that's damaging to the player himself is a long way from throwing him under the bus publicly with no right of reply. Hopefully the kid performs tomorrow and that's the end of it.
Definitely can see the difference in circumstance but Walter wasn’t the first to call out Jarvis’ effort if I remember rightly and maybe needed that kick up the backside. Think Abu’s ‘error’ here is simply just being a bit daft.
Definitely hope Abu is given the chance tomorrow too. Not mega keen on it but can see some of the benefit of what they’ve done, think a temporary excluding from the squad as he refused to deny would be a step far.
I wasn't fussed about the insta thing but he's fronted up and the manger has stood (well sat) with him in doing so. Shows he cares now hopefully the boo boys get off his back and we actually show the lad some support
Good thing about that press conference is Kamara looked happy to be there and absolutely not like he was been held against his will at gunpoint
