Yeah we aren't likely to do anything either this month, so can't see it happening. I won't lie though I'd love that signing.

If Southampton did sell him I suspect we'll get priced out by other vultures.

 

I'd be worried about bringing Dibling up to Newcastle as Chelsea previously signed him from Southampton but he suffered from homesickness so they had to let him leave and go back to his family. So I'd say he'd be too risky a transfer for Newcastle at the moment considering the RW position being filled with quality is crucial to this transfer window and could be the difference between a CL spot in the end so dropping 30-50mil on a kid that couldn't hack an hour and a half journey to London for Chelsea youth training is quite the gamble.

 

Spare a thought Wesley Fofana - once upon of time I'd have given my left bollock for us to sign him - still only 24 but looks like he could miss the rest of this season with a hammy now - literally will have managed 27 league games across THREE seasons for Chelsea (36 games across 4 seasons including his time a Leicester) having cost £75m - nearly £3m per appearance so far....

 

Heard a probably spurious rumour that we are trying to get Doak on loan? Only good if it includes an option. Probably crap but he’s got talent, and would free up Almiron to leave.

Well, if Dubs does go... That'll be a sad moment and potentially points-costly to us this season, especially after his recent performances. He's looked a bit better than recent Pope and who knows how useful Odysseas will turn out to be.

 

I absolutely agree he’s been brilliant recently and we probably should not be selling him.

If Dubs is off because we’re happy with Pope, his dodgy shoulder and even worse footwork, then I’m confused. Our upturn has coincided with Popes injury as well.

 

I think it's more that Dubs is being offered bigger money in Saudi and is seriously considering it while he can still attract that kind of opportunity. Howe said it is complicated and they have to respect the player's wishes. If he wants away for more cash then good luck to him. Most 'normal' people would change jobs/employer for a bigger offer.

Absolutely and if they still go with Pope it'll soon be realised that's the only plus. Although people might still not figure it out if they haven't already.
