He got another job, how do you think we should have stopped him from leaving, chained him to his desk?
How the hell in the current mess can we consider letting Longman go in the January window? Verging on deliberate self-destruction. And keeping Omur -- aargh ...
I thought you were indicating that the people who wanted Walter gone automatically thought the squad was capable of travelling up the league. Sorry if that wasn't the case.
Acun’s biggest balls up was his recruitment, his second balls up was appointing a manager without experience of english football and then hamstringing him with the signings.
Longman is one of the last I'd be getting rid of. Fairly low wages compared to others, works hard, clearly has pride and cares and isn't a terrible option on either side as a winger.
I think some did, but the major complaint I saw towards the end was issues with the man management and a lack of reality when it comes to the formation/style/tactics we were playing and the players available post injury issues.
Very unprofessional if true , if I’m honest I find it hard to believe he’s said that to two random boro fans
He leaves for nothing in summer unless we commit to another 2/3 year deal. So whilst you make a valid point in the short term he doesn't have a long term future and I would assume his space will be taken by someone with a higher ceiling of expectation anyway.
And the squad has been better in terms of PPG since Walter left than in the period before. No one said they were world beaters, just capable of more than they were delivering. And despite even more injuries that's what we've seen. Walter won't get another job in England. The idea he was somehow blameless in alienating players, staff,.media and supporters in the quickest time I've ever seen is just plain ridiculous.
True, but if ha hadn't got injured in summer he'd probably have gone when we brought in Millar, Belloumi and Kamara.
Walter wasn’t blameless by any stretch but a lot of people confidently said this squad is good enough to finish mid-table under a better coach and it was absurd at the time and it’s absurd now. Myself and others said the squad was nowhere near good enough months ago but others were convinced a change in coach would see us climb the table as we’re not a poor squad, just mismanaged.
It’s good that I didn’t say he was blameless then and you just made that up in your head to get annoyed at.
Strange it is Hearts, when we wanted Shankland from them in the summer. I can only assume the moves are connected?
I mean, we're 18th in the form table since Selles came in - with more injuries. I'd say with a fair crack with this squad - he could get us to mid-table?
