Substitute referee was appalling. Worst in a long while and we have had some terrible ones. Someone suggested he is the illegitimate son of Keith Stroud. I wouldn't disagree although whoever his father is he should have pulled out.

An awful goal to concede just after half time attributable to poor defending by several people. However the pathetic decisions by the idiot in the middle changed the course of the game.

Riza has said he wants to appeal which should see the outcome reduced to a yellow.

I hope we never see the incompetent cretin again. His first time in charge of a Championship game. Please let him never do another one.

That apart I have no strong feelings. <whistle>

It's disappointing because we should have won the game in the 1st half.

Let's not blame the ref we blew 2 points.

Terrible by Dalaand. WTF was Robinson doing. The Cov player made a meal of it but Robinson swung his arm and there is no way that gets overturned.

To get out of trouble teams like that really need to be beaten.

You’re right on both points. On reflection yes the referee should never have been asked the question over Robinson. The goal conceded and our failure to put them away by half time plus Robinson’s red card were all self inflicted.

Let’s put on another gutsy display at Boro on Saturday!

Sounds like there's a bit more grit and graft in the team the last couple of games.
However, us and 3 others are starting to be cast adrift. A mini league of 4.

I blame the ref for being a total ar$ehole.

He contrived to give every contentious decision against us. He gave nothing of any consequence in our favour.

No argument about their goal and I need to see the Robinson incident to make up my mind. Other than there seemed little in it and there must have been a firing sniper in the stand the way he went down. Suffice to say he was up quickly with no treatment when Robo went off.

However he allowed them to get away with much shirt pulling and a couple of similar incidents to Robo without penalty. We were playing the ref as well as Cov today.

    Bit harsh BfB <laugh>

Crowd of over 5k and some decent ability on show.
I definitely witnessed lower crowds and worse football at Ninian Park during the 80's!!

Just for the record, Torquay snatched the 3 points with a late goal but were also reduced to 10 men for the last 10 minutes or so after a crazy challenge by a Gulls forward on a Truro defender on the Truro byline as the defender was trying to shepherd the ball out for a goal kick. <doh>

Thanks Turk, I am sorry for your loss. I found the poignance of your post quite difficult as it reminded me of others loved and lost. Knowing other posters here both personally and virtually, I am sure they too would have experienced similar emotions as me.
    RIP Bluebird

I have to be honest Turk, I noted your loss but then got engrossed in the follow up posts to the thread. Unthinking and dismissive of me. I'm sorry! Such losses are a hard hit even when they are expected. But it is god to get it out.
I have a friend who died recently from CJD.......luckily he was diagnosed very late, loss his mind in 2 weeks and dead within 8 weeks. Good for him but not so good for those left behind.

It is a sad thing to lose a friend. And I am sorry for your loss Turk.

To be honest, the timing and location of your post caught me out. I found it difficult to deal with.
I'd come onto the thread to post about their goal and the red just after the sending off and saw your post. I felt it would be insensitive just to post about the topics I've highlighted, more so to say sorry for your loss and then post anyway. I therefore posted nothing and left the thread until much later in the day. If that has caused offence, I apologise.

Turk - you're obviously a caring individual who often posts from the heart on here. That's a couple of times you've gone down that road recently and appear dissappointed with the poor response from other forum users.

The assumption you're making is that it displays a lack of empathy with the subjects. I'd suggest it's more a case of "avoidance" on the part of many posters who feel uncomfortable with the subject matter.

Although this is essentially a football forum, the threads put up and individual posts on them cover a huge range of subjects. I'd suggest that posters choose to comment on what they prefer to and exist in a "comfort zone" online - I know for the most part I do.

Please don't quit the forum because of this Turk. We need your character on here.

Just watched the Coventry highlights and the Riza interview.
As Hilts said, the game should have been put to bed in the 1st half.

That is a positive and a negative.
Ashford looks to be growing into 1st team football. Some mature decisions and an appreciation of players around him. Robertson seems to be getting in the box more. O'Dowda looking on top form. Sio linked up play in a way we've seen him do for the Greece team. Nothing flash, break up play, give it to a player.
Finishing is still a weakness. Defence looked reasonably sound though too many individual errors.
Another positive is the return of injured players. Squad depth could be key.
Robinson's red looked soft, and his reaction suggests it wasn't deliberate. The issue was, he gave the ref a decision to make.

Riza seems to handle the media well. Its the first time I've watched one of his interviews for a while. He pauses for thought, isn't overly emotive and plays things with a straight bat. I think his reference to only needing a couple players is less delusional, more realistic. I'm sure he'd love half a dozen players, but he knows he won't get them, so is managing expectations.
He did say he expects 4 or 5 to leave.

All in all a reasonable result that could have been, and needed to be, more.
With the teams around us picking up points, we need to maintain results. A big ask, but there are signs of encouragement.

Sorry Turk for your loss, but as only a visitor here, I didn't know if it was appropriate for me to comment. However, as others have said, it's difficult not to be insensitve to your loss, as we all deal with death differently. Hopefully, you take strength from the fact these butts are some of the best guys around and will support you through this difficult time.

Anyone seen anything on an appeal against Robo's red? Opinion seems divided 50/50 on various boards.

The fact that it's gone quiet indicates the club are not doing anything meaning he will miss tomorrow and next Thursday - probably wouldn't play in the cup game anyway.

But then he will miss the game against Watford which will be a big loss.

On the plus side it will keep him fit for subsequent games including the JB game.

It was soft but I can't see it getting overturned. Like many have said, he gave the ref a decision to be made.
You switched on people can answer this: if we appeal and fail, is the ban lengthened?

Could be if the appeal is deemed trivial or some similar phrase. Riza will have watched a replay and he might have decided its not worth the risk.
