Barca's second attempt to register Dani Olmo ahead of Wednesday's deadline has reportedly failed.

They have 24 hours to bribe the right people to change this, or he becomes a free agent.

I am sure we will be hearing how Barca are not a serious club on Reddit any minute now...

So when does the admin crawl out of bed and get a load of Yang content on the official site?

Reports suggest that Barca failed with their third and final attempt to register Dani Olmo before last night's deadline.

Incredibly, it would appear that the player they signed for over £50m just six months ago is now a free agent.

    Wid with a capital W.

Screw our wage ceiling. Making players like Richarlison and Werner among our highest earners poured scorn onto that long ago.

Smash the ceiling and bring him in.

all it will take is one of the other big 6, the ones that win things to show interest and that’s that for us

    never happening

Saddest thing is we’ve shaved about £500k off the wage bill over the last 18 months. So there’s absolutely scope to offer a couple of genuine ballers around £250k+ a week.

I’d love to be wrong but you just know it ain’t happening. Ali Gold’s already hinted that we’ll explore the loan market… because more signings like Werner is exactly what this club needs…

I think we need to realise and accept that we are not like the other 5 clubs

its an illusion our fanbase has created due to being on rich lists etc

we should only get excited when we are in for players that the likes of Bournemouth, Fulham and Everton may be chasing too, then we have a chance.

The way Bournemouth and Fulham are currently going, we’d be lucky to be in for similar players <laugh>

Everton are possibly the one club whose business is worse than ours. There are players at Bournemouth and Fulham that would have been good business for us.

United's has been far worse for over a decade. They absolutely take the award as pound for pound the worst team in the PL.

Definitely correct. The other 5 consist of three clubs who have been better than us for more than 50 years and are the three leading winners of the league and two who have been doped with dodgy money.
That why I keep saying that finishing above 6th is actually outperforming realistic expectations and the owners deserve praise for achieving that on many occasions while building for the future.

I actually think it is an illusion that has been created by the media and the Club itself, much more so than the fans.

The latter is what has been so damaging in recent years. Ticket prices and transfer fees betray the fact that Levy thinks he runs a club that is genuinely 'big'. A far greater betrayal of how deep he has fallen for this illusion is in his treatment of managers, holding them up to ridiculous standards whereby they almost inevitably crash and burn.

His eagerness to join the Super League confirmed just how brainwashed he is, our presence in that initial list was sadly laughable.

As long as he still labours under the illusion that we are a big club, he will continue to award himself annual bonuses, continue to raise ticket prices and continue to spend £60m on players as bad as Richarlison.

But if you start from the actual fact that we are the sixth biggest club you can stop using words like damaging because there is no damage as in reality we are outperforming and taking risks to try to improve.

I don't need to stop using any words.

From my perspective, almost everything we've done since moving to the new stadium has taken us further away from overtaking the other five clubs as opposed to getting closer to them.

The chain of decisions taken since 2020 starting with the sacking of Poch have almost without exception been damaging.

It's unlikely but that's the point, I'd like to see us at least try.

People said the same thing about Osimhen in the summer, "he'll never join a club like Spurs"...he ends up joining a team who are much smaller than us and in a b-grade league. If we'd matched Gala's wage offer, do you think he'd have chosen them over a move to the PL? I doubt it.

People said the same thing about Klinsmann, Van Der Vaart and Berbatov. They all came.

Sometimes it's about taking the risks PS claims we take (only: we don't), showing some proper ambition and who knows what the outcome will be?

Right now the extent of our ambition appears to be haggling with Nottingham Forest until deadline day for a few million off the Johnson deal. I'm sick of it.

While I think you are right about the outcomes it is in the nature of risky decisions that a lot of them will turn out wrong.
The Richarlison signing is a great example. Apparently it was a no brainer to sign Isak instead. But Richarlison had almost the exact same goalscoring record as Isak but in the PL rather than La Liga and had scored a lot more goals for Brazil than Isak had for Sweden. So the more ambitious signing of the two was Richarlison. But it didn't turn out to be good business. That's life.

Richarlison’s probably the worst example to use when it comes to taking risks because around 80% of our fanbase knew he was ****. Barely anyone wanted him. I wouldn’t even call his deal risky, just a case of burning money.

It seems we have very different definitions of the words 'risk' and 'ambition'.
