I saw him a couple times for the under-21s as well. Pace, skill, eye for goal etc. but yeah, always played like doing defensive work was beneath him. Sometimes when you watch a player, you get the sense they’re playing for themselves rather than the team. I got those vibes when watching Jarvis. Someone who would be happier scoring two goals but losing the game than getting no goals or assists but being on the winning side and contributing with pressing and tracking back.

He’s the polar opposite of Longman, in my opinion, and it’s probably why Longman will go on to have a decent career at Championship or upper League One level and Jarvis won’t.

There’s probably an unconscious bias towards Kamara because of a certain characteristic he has that leads them to go for “lazy”. Few aren’t ready for the conversation

I’m hoping he gets a decent move in Jan and he does well. Will be a real shame if he can’t make it here

He does have a lazy gait. Whether that’s laziness and lack of desire itself is hard to judge at this stage but he does tend to jog in scenarios where you’d expect a player to move quicker.

Well we’ve destroyed Jarvis a kid who’s hardly played this season
Maybe start looking at the players who have been playing and losing most weeks?

He just needs a reality check. He could be a Championship player. Walter made a comment about him needing to work harder. Sellés has come in and not given him a sniff. Neither did Rosenior. He impressed in pre-season 2023/24 and scored a few goals and everyone expected him to be part of the first team. He then went on loan to Shelbourne.

He probably doesn’t show enough in training either.

He does but I think most forwards do. They’re not going to be busting a gut everytime they opposition attacks, particularly in our situation where that happens more often than when they go the other way<laugh>

Lazy is a lazy term to throw at someone. Lazy to me in football is Jarvis, he wont even press, but he’ll happily get the ball and try dribble past 3 players.

Same as the comments about players not giving a ****
    It was nonsensical

    Kamaras problem is confidence
He was woeful 1st half v blackburn

    But much better 2nd half
I bet he has a good game tomo

Its only his 2nd season at pro level
And he was signed to play behind millar n belloumi
    This season

I can’t get my head around people in Jarvis/Ebiowei’s position where they’re supposedly a cut above talent wise but piss it up the wall as they won’t put in the hard yards.

You’d think they would look at someone like Slater or Longman and think that’s the standard work ethic wise, and their talent can take them a level further. Especially when there is so much financial benefit to gain from making it at this level.

Please tell me you;re not being serious and insinuating what I think you are? It has absolutely nothing to with the colour of his skin for Christ sake. People say Giles is lazy too, what are you going to put that down to?

I thought Kamara had a good second half on Sunday, shame the goal didn't count as it would've done him the world of good. There's definitely a player there, but I'd like to see him take on his man, or cut inside and shoot more often. Too often he plays it safe, maybe that will come with confidence

Maybe lacking football intelligence rather than lazy. I can’t imagine a young kid getting a chance in a first team at a championship side thinking “oh I can’t be arsed to track that run”. Like he just let his man completely go free for a goal earlier this season. Specially not when he’s got the skill with the ball at his feet to actually make it, it’s surely gotta be that he’s thinking too slow and unaware of what’s going on around him. Like you say it just doesn’t make sense that they can’t be bothered.

It doesn’t apply to everyone, don’t get it twisted. I just see trends, it’s no one on here, stadium and twitter though, I am insinuating it 100%.

Kamara isn’t just “lazy” to some who comment, he’s got a “bad attitude”. Never once seen that about Giles, lazy is fine it’s what comes alongside it

The New Year fireworks in Newcastle/Gateshead have been cancelled so I'm at a loose end. I thought I'd use the time to bring my 'why we are ****' database up to date.

Just check that I've got this right:

Jones is **** because he never looks up and can't pass.

McLoughlin is **** because he's so slow and he can't pass.

Coyle is **** because although he's a nice bloke he doesn't shout enough.

Giles is **** because he can't head and wants to play for Middlesbrough.

Jacob is **** because he's League One at best and we should have a better left back.

Zambrano is **** because he's banned.

Kamara is **** because he has a lazy gait and reminds people of Malcolm Ebiowei.

Longman is **** because, although he's a trier, that's not good enough.

Pedro is **** because he's old and slow.

Burstow is **** because he's young and not fast enough.

Slater is **** because he goes missing and misses goals.

    Anything to add?
