Shaw and Mount I'd ordinarily keep if they were ever fit, but they never are so what's the point?

They are just taking the money and giving nothing back.

Gooners should beat Brentford tomorrow, title challenging club and they need a win so they should be right up for it.

On a more serious note, I've seen whole swathes of players that United fans would cull, most of whom you obviously would get rid of - but how easy is it to do that in one or two windows, and at what cost?

We've all bought players, put them on huge contracts and then they've turned to ****e and/or become injury-prone. Aquillani, Oxlaide Chamberlain, Clyne and Collymore spring to mind about us. There's probably many, many, more.

In a lot of these cases, Ox and Clyne for instance, there are no buyers and the player rather likes the contract they're sitting on. I keep hearing that United are teetering on the edge of FFP (or its equivalent nowadays) despite revenue continuing to climb at a steady rate despite poor form in the CL (when you're actually in it). Point is, do you think you'll be able to buy your way out of this crisis(?) when there's little chance you can sell your way out of it? Is the only solution to get funny money from the Saudi league IF the likes of Casemiro, Erikson, Mount, etc will actually go, because surely they're the only ones who'll match the wages you're giving them?

Yeah, no matter what I always felt Liverpool was trying their hardest they had true grit in them those players, just lacked that quality.

Man Utd are nothing like em

It won't happen instantly, obviously. And some of those players I mention could well turn things round.

Shaw, for instance, would suit the LWB role till end of season if he can get fit. Which would put Mazaroui on the.right. He's a far more adaptable and technical footballer than Dalot is, who has annexed one of the wing back positions, sadly.

Even if Shaw doesn't get fit, we need to buy one next month anyway.

I'd also say we need an actual goalscorer and a centre midfielder of some experience, but more at peak than past it.

Eriksen and Casemiro are then benched, hopefully forever.

Could well be two or three in next month, and we can see the season out. One or two also leave.

Then the same in summer. Amorim brings his own choices in.

He's on the list further up as keep, but only just.

    Shouldn't be captain.

He's got a role to play, but as part of a team in a disciplined position.

He shows no discipline of any kind most of the time. Poor for a captain.

Oh, I wholeheartedly agree. But that was less than a full year into his five-year contract. Then we couldn't get rid of him for love or money. Don't blame him, but I am arsed with Clyne, who was equally sound at first, and then went ****e after being injured because of a lot of things I've heard about his lifestyle when out of the game. Ditto Collymore.

I think Ox tried hard to get back to what he was, but he couldn't, and nobody else wanted to risk paying a fee for him and matching what we paid in wages. My point is that Utd have many players from Column A, and Column B, and they're trying to get rid of them all at once (or at least some of their fans and pundits are suggesting they do so). Nobody is suggesting that a team with United's brand and assets is in danger of going bust, but in FFP terms they're really hamstrung on what they can sell and buy in the short-to-medium timescale, so there's no magic panacea on the horizon here

. All that said, not really sure why Radcliffe is stopping their charity payments to various causes as that has nothing to do with FFP and Utd are still a very, very wealthy outfit. If they need to make housekeeping savings they could do worse than cull all their directors and stop paying themselves management salaries.

Don’t need to go back to that squad
We lost to Utd in the Cup
And we have had two 0-0 draws following everyone saying that we were nailed on
With quite a few of the current squad involved

it’s a big game we should win it but stranger things have happened
I am reckon Utd win Rashford to score

It notoriously difficult to move on players on big wages, especially when those players will be looking at a wage cut and playing for a smaller club. We had that problem at Arsenal for years, trying to move on deadwood on long contracts and big wages. The trouble is, you can't really build a squad when these players are still on the books, and ultimately like us Utd might well have to let some of them go on a free, cut their losses and start again.

The whole process takes time though, and you're looking at 2-3 seasons minimum to get rid of players who aren't in your plans and replace them with better ones who are. Then you have to make sure you're operating within financial rules.

Try starting with psr when 80% of your squad are ****e and your club income isn't what it should be.
You ****s are decades ahead of us.

I don't really find any sympathy within me for these situations, Prem football is paying the price of the monster it created. I remember a guy by the name of Peter Feeley playing for us in Division 3 (L1) back in the 70's and a great player he was, back then he would have been paid peanuts - one of the best players I ever remember at this level. No one will know his name not even current Gills fans, but he came to us having been on Chelsea's books and did play for them, but back then he was up against names such as Osgood. Could you imagine that club of mine having a player of that quality today, not a chance, instead we have to reverse the clock to past idols and rely on Blackburn rejects past their prime. Sad what's been done to the game - yeah grounds were ****holes back then when you had to piss up against a wall but until we start tearing up these ridiculous contracts, stop paying ridiculous wages, subjecting clubs to costs into their millions and billions for what?...absolute dogshite, players taking the piss, while in politics these same fans that support it week in and week out will cry about their fellow citizens having to go to foodbanks...it's obscene and has to stop....it won't though. The financial rules are nowt but a sticky plaster. What was it, £25 for an under 10 year old to attend an FA Cup game, it's a fooking disgrace.
