If i was a paper boy in their shop i wouldn't want that scrawny ugly **** anywhere near my sack.....sooner sort my own sack out!!!!
Never realised Clough was that prolific. TBH, I didn’t really know anything about him as a player other than he was a striker. Only ever known him as a manager, who for me, was one of the best.
Paul Merson was, is, and always will be a complete idiot. Appointing a good manager is more important than appointing a well known one.
I can’t think of a single thing Merson ever said that I agree with, he’s possibly the dimmest bloke ever to appear on TV.
The Plymouth chairman was on talksport when he appointed Rooney, he said he’s only been invited onto talksport because he appointed Rooney
..and those who became crap managers. You can add Roy Keane to this list... https://www.planetfootball.com/quic...came-terrible-managers-neville-maradona-pirlo
https://www.reddit.com/r/Championship/s/bcu1NkTIJA The bar was not high, yet still, that's impressive
I remember when we appointed Silva and Merson said "Why didn't we appoint an English Manager like Thierry Henry instead of a foreign Manager". He said this live on Sky FFS.
It was more about why some clubs appoint well known players as managers, is it for the, “Frank Lampard’s Coventry, Wayne Rooney’s Plymouth?” Do they feel that the media is giving them more coverage?
