The fact we have Gordon, Isak, Tonali and Bruno in the first XI just hasn’t resonated with much of the press. You have ****ing Matz Sels and Chris Wood second in the league, it’s not about picking on the weak links and it’s not always about whose media cock is the biggest. Sometimes it’s about more, and far more than a big6 name. I wish the media would stop touting this underdog horseshit when Man U are in a relegation battle and Spurs are just as bad. This, from teams who’ve spent ****ing billions. Call it for what it is.
Hahaha I did love that interview with Isak, trying to ask him if he thought he was worth £150m, what were the best strikers in Europe that were like him, and how important playing in the CL is to him! He didn't rise to any of it, haha.
He’s an intelligent lad. I hope we can satisfy the aims he and Tonali have, but it’s funny - were Real Sociedad and AC Milan likely to win the CL? Didn’t think so, yet coming to Newcastle is dropping levels. It’s weird - we had all this lauding post takeover but still the media see us as not really competing.
For a lot of people the question mark over this Newcastle team was that we’d get good results at home against teams challenging for Europe like Liverpool and Villa, then drop points playing relegation strugglers away. With tonight’s result those questions have been answered.
