Yeah, the more I hear about Walter the worse it gets. Terrible man-management. I backed him and was excited for his football. The constant poor finishing frustrated me so I can imagine it frustrated him but he’s paid to motivate them and keep them on his side.
If someones half assing it Fair enough you can crticise But if you want someone to score Lambasting them is not the way Itll be on their mind next time they shoot Didnt miss on purpose Its proper backwards management
Yeah. Slater’s missed a lot of sitters this season but constructive criticism and work on the training ground is the response. Bollocking a player for that at half-time does nobody any good.
An expert view for anyone who's concerned.... https://www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/p...UfFQ_DMhN8aN5lxzow_aem_zKIQX0UtMTbE4BdXN7FDjg
Fit of rage may be a poor term and I’m not debating the decision being right or wrong here. However, it’s clear that the sacking was impulsive. He gave the man a 3 year contract, backed him financially in January to turn around and sack him after the final game. As others have questioned I do wonder what the breaking point between Rosenior still being in the job or not was. Was it being in the playoffs or did he need to get promoted? If you ask me Acun has a tendency to listen to the fans too much and as passionate as we all are that isn’t a solid way to run a club
What did everyone get for christmas? The magical ability to turn into a fly on the wall by the look of it. Everybody is ITK now.
If that's aimed at me,I never forced you to read or believe it...That's entirely on you,I'm not overly concerned whether you do or don't
Take it easy, it wasn't aimed at anyone in particular it just seems as though everyone is ITK about everything these days. Apart from me, i know **** all
He also had a go at one of the senior players (who I won’t name) after the game at Oxford and player and manager had to be kept apart by other players.
For how long ? Maybe just drop him for 5 matches because he just can’t do it - or keep on getting him to practise - . We jump on players for one miss yet the manager can’t , when he sees him daily ? Is Slater doing extra time afterwards to improve like Bowen did ?
I defended Walter longer than most and I’ve been critical of Slater this season and his finishing. Our finishing all season has been terrible and has cost us loads of points. There’s a case to be made that we’d probably be top half and Walter still head coach if we finished half our big chances missed. That being said, there’s a time and place to criticise a player’s finishing (not overall play, just finishing in the context of a missed chance) and half-time in the dressing room isn’t it. Emotions are already running high and the head coach needs to be the motivator in that moment and address the finishing issue privately and separately at the training ground.
Actually that has changed with Jared Dublin, he listened to his recommendation of Selles and seems to be listening around transfer targets also.
Having been there that night based on those that actually came over to clap I would say that was Coyle or Jones
