The quality of officiating in the PL is spectacularly dire, the Championship genuinely has better quality. I feel it is significantly worse than two years ago.
It has been getting worse ever since they became professional referees and quite a few of them try to make names for themselves. They were much much better when they had full time jobs like schoolteachers etc etc and got paid around a couple of hundred quid per game.
Danny Murphy didn't think it was a foul. In fairness, Glasner said that it's a foul anywhere in Europe other than England, so they took advantage of that.
Brilliant, so you can't obscure the goalkeepers view from an offside position but you can push him out of the way to allow a player to score. Mmmmm.....
Good advice! I know TP has his limitations at this level but if we’d had 11players on the park for the last 19 games put a shift in each time as he has, in my view, then a few more points may have been in the board, but in the end it all comes back to how they’ve been set up to fail by RM. I’m looking forward to the Brentford game along with grandson, he normally brings us some luck!!
That’s definitely my biggest concern. They have changed their decision making because they “have” VAR as a fall back. It has definitely made refereeing miles worse.
Yep there’s definitely a lot more important things than kicking an inflated spherical object trying to kick it into a net
That's bullshit from Glasner, he's just saying that because it was in their favour. I've never seen a push on the GK not be given as foul until yesterday against us. Goalkeepers are overprotected in the PL. Even just making an honest attempt to head the ball at a corner is regularly given as a foul on the GK if it prevents the GK from reaching the ball. It's been a bug bear of mine for years. But this one just was an obvious foul. Theres no 'the goalkeeper needs to be stronger' about it. If you push the goalkeeper like that when the ball comes into the box, even if he is 'being strong' you are going to affect his ability to jump, and his ability to have his footing right to react and make a save. The goalscorer also fouled THB but y'know **** Southampton FC.
I’m with the rest of you in thinking that Rambo was fouled. Would the free kick have been given if instead of still trying to get to the ball he had gone down like a sack of ****, like so many other players in various positions do?
He 100% should have gone down holding his face. These awful refs only seem to blow for dives, never genuine fouls
