You do love those big handicaps don't you Pilgrim? The second one there is at 15,05 by the way so don't miss it ;) and what a minefield of a race it is. There is even the Royal Bond winner in there off 144 and any number of unexposed 4 and 5 year-olds (including your lad Harsh who was 4th in the Fred Winter last season and also a good 4th last time out - nudged up a pound for that). It will also be Daryl Jacob's last ride so it would be fitting if Mr Percy could win this - 136 is not an overly generous mark but let's see.

I've always liked Daryl Jacob - whilst he isn't a Walsh or a Geraghty I've always thought of him as one of racing's good guys and he has had some memorable days in the double green - my favourite being probably on Sceau Royal winning the Henry VIII Novices Chase at Sandown.

    15:13 Kelso - Camp Belan e/w

Class-4 Amateur Jockeys' Handicap Chase over 3m2f on good-to-soft ground.

A solid stayer. Form indicates that the Milan gelding has a decent chance in this affair to gain a podium finish, at least. Wears blinkers as in previous runs. Mr. Gregor Walkingshaw (7) rides for the Lucinda Russell stable.

5/1 (Bet365/Unibet) best price early-doors, on the ATR site.

Not just State Man but Mystical Power also.
It confirms what I’ve thought for a long time, namely that, ever since Istabraq, the quality of top hurdlers is dire in the extreme.
Could you ever imagine Champion Hurdlers from say the sixties and seventies running a race like that? No way!
