Think we would have all taken a point from this game and from seeing the line up at the start , it’s certainly a point gained with zero shots on target
Controlled parts of the game, without creating much. Thought we would hang on, when it's in the late 80s need to hoof it up the line and get the lines set. Norwich missed some decent chances so felt we would hang up for a brilliant 3pts but so be it. At least me and my daughter witnessed an Rs goal which we haven't done since Sheff Utd!. Point fare result
The first half shouldn’t be forgotten. Played bravely with the ball, looked well drilled without it. Looked fine until Field went off. I can understand why after he’d picked up a very avoidable card but we were desperate after that and it was a poor call. Super save from Nardi from the header. Excellent goalkeeper. Pretend the Sainz miss didn’t happen. Fair play to the defenders who were all considerably better than we all expected.
It's always a massive risk to try sit and defend a 1-0. It was a decent first half, pressed high and played a few decent passages of football. A very poor tactical 2nd half resulted in an equaliser for them and if the game had longer to go then they would have most likely bagged a winner. Is that zero shots on target in 2 games now?
Missed following the game as an early kick off. Headed for my daily 1km swim (40 laps x 25m in around 30 mins if I push myself hard). So it appears we got a lucky og late in the 1st half and they equalized late in the 2nd half with us not recording a shot on target. How is our prodigy, Kolli doing? Does Nardi have a concussion?
Nardi had a very good game but the stats don’t totally tell the story. First half we were good. Second half for 15 mins or so it wasn’t dissimilar. One horrific miss from them off a Nardi error and the equaliser was very avoidable. Kolli playing off scraps again.
A mixed bag thus far in the games on now. Watford will inevitably come back to beat Cardiff with two deflected goals. Pompey on the way to a humping.
Stoke, Hull, Cardiff and Oxford all win, Plymouth, Portsmouth and Luton lose. So four of our chasers close the gap, that late equaliser today did us no favours...
It’s a dumb league. Everyone is about as good/**** as everyone else on any given day bar one or two at each end of the table. We’ll be ok.
The gap to the dreaded drop zone reduces to 5 points for us, from 7. On the plus side, if Cardiff can beat Watford at Vicarage Rd, then we certainly can at home. The bookies agree with us, just. Time to start 2025 with a new marker of intent. COYRs!
Missed the last 10 minutes as we had a late lunch at a beach side hotel...... 27 degrees mid afternoon and so much activity on the beach, we had to keep reminding ourselves it was 29th December...... Anyway I digress, shame we couldn't hold out for the win, I thought we looked quite good first half, played the ball around well and looked organised, far better than the line up suggested we would be..... just no real attacking threat.... 2nd half we seemed to get deeper too early and invited them on to us.... still would have snapped hands off if offered a point before kick off, so can't really be disappointed in the end.... Heading to La Palma tomorrow for some more Vitamin D.....
