100%, whenever you concede so late then miss a great chance you'll always be disappointed Blackburn are a tough team atm, we avoided defeat which was the main thing and we played well 2nd half
The slow starts need to stop, going behind every game means it’s that much harder to go 2 goals clear so a last minute goal doesn’t blow 3 points. RLB is doing a good job but if we want to be in the mix for an automatic spot it really needs sorting out.
Night and Day that mind. Game of two halves. They played some great football first 30. We did first 30 of the second half. Neil and Roberts played well. Both have improved. Mayenda did ok but we’re missing quality on that left side and at times we were physically weaker but some breathtaking play. Whatever we do at half time, do it sooner.
What annoys me is having been 2nd best first half, we were far and away the better team 2nd half. We squandered chances to seal the win. Had yet again a lack of subs, now Rigg is injured FFS. (Hope the lads ok) and we switch off last minute. Plus the fact I've never liked them cùnts since wànkers hat played for them
do we have to worry about the manager? Been thinking about it but his impact has been transformational for the side from last year. We hardly lose, when we concede its mostly from errors or scraps and were sitting 4th with a team of kids for the most part. If this bloke managed a side with more quality, who bought into this organisation, energy and style of play and had the quality to finish more chances, wouldnt they be one hell of a side?
Sunderland head coach Regis Le Bris told BBC Radio Newcastle: "It's not a bad result in the end, probably the question is more about the dynamic of the game. It wasn't our best start, we were just not at our best level but we reacted well in the second half. "We played our football, we pressed high and recovered the ball and during the second half we had many chances to score. But when you're away with a full stadium, you know you can concede a goal at the end with high pressure. "We have to work again on our consistency, it's a key word for a team to be at the top of the league. We have a talented team, the question is how we can perform along (the course of) the whole league. "They reacted well, so they have the mentality – it's a question of starting from the beginning until the end."
You’re spot on mate. RLB for me is the best tactical coach we’ve had in my lifetime, tactics wise and the way the game has moved on perhaps ever, older heads may scalp me for that but I’m sure you get what I mean if we took chances second half were out of sight, as has been the case a few games it’ll come and one week we’re going to smash somebody, let’s hope it’s Sunday. 2.2 PPG last 5 games and at the half way point we’re on 1.91 PPG we’re doing incredibly
Has Connolly fallen out of the trusted group? He's only came on twice for a combined 17 minutes since he went off injured against Millwall. He was doing a good job helping us see out games earlier in the season. I hope we can replace some of these players that are on the bench but aren't getting on in January. We need more trusted players.
We score late goals. Concede late goals. It's not just us tho , it happens to every team. Welcome to The Championship.
IMHO that was a great game to watch. Blackburn are a tough team to beat and to go away and almost get the three points was admirable. Dan Neill was sublime throughout and deserves MOTM for me. We were woeful first half mind and exceptional second. A draw was probably a fair result but it was sickening to concede in the 90th minute and then not to score when Mayenda was through. I would have taken that before the game though. Sheffield United dropped points, we did , Blackburn did, Boro did so not a disaster. Lets hope Leeds get thumped by the mighty Stoke!
Perfect summary mate, my thoughts exactly … … let’s hope Stoke and Leeds kick lumps out of each other
