We've been dreadful there. Looked like Blackburn have done their homework and we looked stale and out of ideas. Chance creation, AGAIN, is such an issue. 1 shot in the whole half and it was Rigg from 25 yards or so. Thats not good enough. This falls primarily on Rigg, Roberts and Mayenda and they just aren't doing enough. Time for a change up front in my opinion. Ball isn't sticking and Isidor isn't offering anything out of possession. If we aren't creating chances it's pointless him being in the side, it's like we are playing with 10. We've shown we can come back recently but this is our toughest challenge yet.
I think we look very predictable. Not just in our patterns of play in matches but also week on week we play exactly the same way. That’s not necessarily a bad thing but occasionally we will come up against a good head coach and organised team who we play into the hands of. Very impressed with Blackburn and Eustace.
We've definitely slipped into a pattern of having a ****e first half and turning it round in the second, it needs sorting we need to start matches with more focus and energy. It'd also be useful to figure out what kind of full moon black magic voodoo sacrifice we need to be doing to have better luck with deflections.
Not as bad as some saying imho. They have been excellent. Sometimes the other side is just better. We need a tactical tweak and Regis has shown he can do it. Their right hand side is a threat with Dolan coming inside and Cirkin not sure whether to follow. The rest of their game is pace and agression. We started to match in after 25 mins or so and it was even then. Mayenda surely needs to come inside for Isidor. He is stronger and more involved. Isidor cannot offer the wall pass we need so often. Adil on the left. Rigg isnt in the game either, would be tempted to get Connolly close to Mayenda and offer a bit of a different threat for their big lads. Neil is on it again, 3 ot 4 brilliant turns and carries through the lines to release the attackers. Mepham not at his best so far, nor Hume. But time yet for us imo. We are the comeback kids, fancy us to do it again today still.
I'd be tempted to bring Connolly on for Rigg and play him behind Isidor who looks so isolated yet again today. But first sub is probably going to just be a like for like change
This is not a game for Roberts, he's a luxury we can't afford, he's either a threat for them or a liability for us. Play 442 and put Mayenda up front, Rigg right midfield and left midfield I'd play Auchiche
