Met some of your fans on the way to the ground and they weren’t expecting much. I thought we looked comfortable and should have had 3 or 4.
I genuinely don't think their player even realised what had happened until after. There's a camera angle that shows them heading towards goal and he has eyes only on the ball, doesn't even flinch when Cook goes down.
Another fantastic result. Last week, there were 6 teams below us, now there is 10. What a turnaround. Who could have hoped we’d be in this position, from where we were. Looks like the Marti Party is starting back up. All aboard! Tickets, Tickets please!
7 unbeaten now, Dunne looking like he did 2nd half of last season. All the players and coaches are doing an excellent job lately. Keep it going lads into the new year and you never know, still plenty of points available to sneak into the play-offs !
Great day out Few beers Decent company And a win I'll come back more often Still haven't seen us lose since 2019
Just prior to their goal, with the ball in their half Cook was signalling to the bench, the lady next to me even said he was limping as he walked up the pitch. Most players would have sat on the floor and waited for the ref to stop the game, fair play for Cook for trying to carry on. I guess this time it didn't work out and has lead to a harsher injury, can't knock his commitment though.
I was tempted to say that that was the best I've seen from us this season, but, having reflected on the quality of the opposition (Preston were awful), that would probably be generous. We were pretty good, though. Lots of good performances - Dunne, Morrison, Paal, Morgan, Varane, Field, Smyth - and there seems to be a renewed confidence and spirit in the squad. All positive. Good pre and post match drinks at the Broadcaster. Good to see Stan again and particularly nice to meet Wubba for the first time. Happy Christmas!
What a great afternoon. We hit the bar twice - Paal and Smyth - and their keeper saved well from Koll's header. Field would have scored on another day. I agree about their goal. If he'd clocked that Cook was crocked, he might have put it out of play but probably not. I had the unusual experience of going into HT 1 down and being quietly confident that we would get a draw at least from the game. It was very pleasing to be proved correct. On the way to the ground, I was mulling over QPR related matters and thought about how solid Cook has been all season! It looked bad and likely out for months. He will be missed for his solid defence and leadership. It's my belief that Marti was near to the chop just a few weeks ago and I think few could imagine us on 14th going into the Christmas break. It's no time for complacency but it seems the fears of relegation are diminishing week by week. Merry Christmas to all you lads and lasses as we enjoy the lofty heights of 14th in the table.
I really dislike pisston nob end, they really are the most irrelevant and anti football team in the league and have been for the passed 25 years. Here’s an idea Preston why not try and get better at football. People talk of the “dark arts” but that too fine a phrase for cheating (not their goal that was fair enough) but all their pushing, niggly late fouling, time wasting, pretending to have cramp, a minute to take a goal kick, 40 seconds for a throw in. Just **** off back to your northern ****hole and don’t come back. Apart from that, that was a pleasant afternoon
