They're saying the non payment of agents fees and image rights and bonuses is down to "processing errors", which sounds very fishy to me, almost like the owners aren't that interested anymore... Funnily enough if it's three months worth of this stuff roughly coincides with Stavely getting the boot from there, so I might be reading too much into it, but it does look as if without her they're just an after thought now.
Had one tell me I’d sold out in being a Sunderland fan last night!! He’s a mate too and couldn’t understand the irony of his comment!! Standing there in his £170 adiidas mag coat, which is identical to my £69 one from a few years ago except for the club badge!!
I was gigging in Trimdon last night , used to live there with my ex wife. Pretty much a third of us, boro and them in that village. I live in Chester-le-Street
Well, I said I was selling out by singing a Christmas song (although it was The Darkness song) and he said I’d already sold out being a Sunderland fan!
I work in a big place with a lot of people, 50/50 split of Sunderland and newcastle fans, since the takeuurva, the banter and crack between the 2 sets of fans and depleted to zero, there's an acknowledgement from both sets that the rivalry has been bought and fizzled out..And it genuinely isn't the same anymore. Any half arsed dig from either set of fans "mags against Sunderland" mainly is usually met with an "aye... funny", like 2 married people that can't be arsed with each other anymore and they can't even be bothered to "go along" with the small talk and effort filled conversation anymore but the underlying dislike continues.
Yeah, they’re a strange breed. I’m undecided whether the ones who have no direct link to them through birth/family ties are actually worse…
Oh they are. The ones who followed them in the 70's were almost normal. Then Keegan joined the first time and a lot of "new" fans appeared who had a chip on their shoulders. 92 and the creation of the Nayshun took that to a whole new level, Premier League and Sky then ramped that up to a whole new level again. To the point that reasonable, "normal" Mags are in the minority now.
Sir John Hall, a Sunderland season ticket holder, jumped on the chance of making money out of them. Needs some blame for their deludedness
The worst type of mag fan i find are the ones that have never been to a mag game or even some have never even been to Newcastle. and they stroll around their towns with mag shirts, pitiful.
I’d agree on this. It’s took all the bite out. Footy convos now aren’t generally about us and then it’s about the wider league. I’d go as far as to say most of the conversations I have with them about us are more a genuine interest from them in what’s happening at the club, it’s a bit ****. It’s 2 way, that derby defeat didn’t hurt like a real derby. The facts are even though they aren’t doing what they thought they were gonna do with these disinterested owners they have, they still feel like a seperate entity really. The biggest thing that’s changed is the ones who never showed much interest in football suddenly going on like it’s always been so important to them, thinking folk who do live and breathe football don’t know who the others who do are. It’s watered down the true passion in my opinion and like us that’s always been their ‘magic’ as a club. They didn’t just sell their souls to the Saudis, they sold a massive chunk of their spirit, and for what?
They're worse off than under Ashley and know just how far they are away from the big clubs. If Isak leaves, as I believe he will, it'll be a real hammer blow for them.
Of course he will. He is a truly world class player coming into his prime. If you look around, you’ve got Lewandowski coming to the end, Juve trying to get back after Inter, even like of Chelsea about to step back into the big boys realm. They will keep Bruno I’d wager cos for all he is quality there are far better players who would cost a lot less dotted around Europe. They missed the boat when they didn’t buy next level players when they got CL. That gap is widening again, and this is before we consider United who have brought in a wonder coach who is already showing his teeth with Rashford. You’ve Everton to factor in now with their takeover, Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal have deep, deep foundations. They had an absolute gift given to them and they honked it. They will either be below Bournemouth and Fulham again today, or below Fulham and 1 point ahead of a supposedly shocking United.
The whole Geordie Nayshun thing was created by John Hall, a Northumbrian from Ashington and not a Geordie. And, as you say former season ticket holder at Roker Park.
