The problem will always be a lack of resources to identify such sites. It's the same reason Facebook is full of scams, shut one down and another 2 appear. The likes of X won't bring in age requirements as it will affect revenue and Musk doesn't care anyway. Google crawls the whole internet so policing what appears on results must be an absolute nightmare. The forced digital ID idea is a privacy nightmare and I certainly wouldn't trust any government to make sure the data is secure...Russia and China would be all over it daily trying to access personal records.

There are a few things you can do to prevent accidentally going to a dodgy site. Cloudflare offer a free DNS service that automatically prevents access to sites identified as unsafe. Personally I use an adblocker at home for all of my devices, mainly as the number of adverts is relentless these days and also it offers some protection for my kids. The ad blocker option is more advanced but the DNS setting is pretty straightforward.

As with most restricted services you can bypass them with a VPN anyway...and those will never ever be blocked.

I totally agree mate, sadly it's a Pandora's Box situation.

It's like the so called 'war on drugs' that we've already lost and 'the fight to stop illegal immigrants' ...

... this is the world we've created and the internet is part of that.

Everyone wants what they feel they're entitled to and there's always a ready excuse. People want clean air, no more flooding and climate change to stop but insist on flying to Prague, for a stag night, because 'the Chinese are to blame for it all anyway'.

The human race is the biggest conundrum ever known ...

... thinks it's the most intelligent species on the planet while simultaneously destroying it and making no progress whatsoever.

There isn't a nation, government or leader who can make any difference.

This is the last dance on the Titanic and I'm going to enjoy it all, f*ck it <party>

scams...yet another product of human failure.

'wow, i did not believe it but i got a £500 drone for only £6, yes £6, just for filling in a small form and it is sitting in front of me now after only two days for delivery'...the most recent one i have seen and people are so feckin greedy now they all want summit cheap, usually to sell on at full price so too many are eager to get caught, stop being greedy and the scams will slow down.

it will most likely end up with all other things as in 'you must have a registered site and pay the govt many pennies per year to run it'

    Good.
Anonymous posters should never have been allowed in any form of social media unless it was to report a form of abuse or criminal activity. The dickheads over there deserve it, BMX Bandit, Gilly, Spug and numerous other gob ****es who hide behind usernames should be made accountable, I don't know if anyone can remember the kid that almost took his own life because of "Banter" when he was a victim of online trolling.

I rarely look at RTG but go on there since this started ... absolute panic from the trolls like Fetch Fletch and his pals.

Despite making no real contribution for years, in terms of wit, wisdom or information, they're absolutely desperate not to lose their self-exalted position ...

... it's hilarious to see them realise their only form of human contact is being taken away from them.

Real tears are being shed <wah>

Back in the real world people will actually go to games, have a pint with mates and jump around when we score <laugh>

He's a sad individual whose friend Mark Bellerby aka BMX Bandit or The King Bellerby on other social media platforms will have no one to cyber bully, what a shame. Unlike Stuart Dugdale, aka, Spug, Left Breathless and a number of other logins will hopefully get the mental health treatment he needs.

I have no idea who rtb is or was. No interest either. If they shut down and posters come here, fair enough. If they are as bad as this plays say then hopefully the mods get shot. Everyone has a clean slate for me, but I would hate for this place to become worse. I would be off quick sharp. This is my only social media thing. I hate everything else. If we lose out little community I will leave the whole social media ****e behind and talk to myself tbh.

Imagine this place if the mods were arseholes and everyone thinks they're a comedian and you've got RTG in a nutshell.

I'm not sure why they would shut down and we wouldn't, I would have thought the two sites were pretty similar.

You only have to look at how quickly anything is shut down regarding ongoing court cases.

Any mention of ticket sales are deleted and people warned.

Likewise if anyone posts info regarding match streams.

The slightest joke about BLM, the EDF, LGBTQ, etc is wiped out.

They're terrified of any legal action yet, weirdly, the Mods protect snide arseholes like Oddbod, Hong Kong, etc, who make endless banal and witless comments but never anything informative, witty or original.

If it closes I'd recommend this place has a 6 month embargo on any new accounts.

It sounds like they should be safer than we are if they're as strict as that on the legal stuff.

Hopefully both sites are allowed to crack on as they always have done. If not we'll figure something out.

That would be ideal, there are lots of decent posters on RTG ...

... I just have a feeling the site owners will see it as more trouble than it's worth.
