I saw ruben selles at a store in hull yesterday. I told him how cool it was to meet him in person, but I didn’t want to be a douche and bother him and ask him for photos or anything. He said, “Oh, like you’re doing now?” I was taken aback, and all I could say was “Huh?” but he kept cutting me off and going “huh? huh? huh?” and closing his hand shut in front of my face. I walked away and continued with my shopping, and I heard him chuckle as I walked off. When I came to pay for my stuff up front I saw him trying to walk out the doors with like fifteen Milky Ways in his hands without paying. The girl at the counter was very nice about it and professional, and was like “Sir, you need to pay for those first.” At first he kept pretending to be tired and not hear her, but eventually turned back around and brought them to the counter. When she took one of the bars and started scanning it multiple times, he stopped her and told her to scan them each individually “to prevent any electrical infetterence,” and then turned around and winked at me. I don’t even think that’s a word. After she scanned each bar and put them in a bag and started to say the price, he kept interrupting her by yawning really loudly.
You know how to make a grown man cry Ern..... and you are so right... sit them down and let them know this is why they have a pay packet and what it means...
Palmer a risk now....when did that happen! Anyone who shows any semblance of form seems doomed to injury
Very good interviews with both Ruben Selles and Regan Slater from yesterday's press conference. Both speak really well. Regan quite revealing about the change in regime, and honest that there are no more excuses now - they need to do it for the new manager. I've been disappointed with Regan's final ball in the last two games, but would definitely stick with him. Think he'll push on under Selles and have to say I think he's captain material.
How the hell do you arrive at that..? appreciate its your opinion, but this is someone who is anonymous in games... doesnt influence the game or others around him...?
He also backs out of 50 50s He will have good games now and again Hes not who you want as captain lol
Hughes is the closest thing to future captain-material. Think he has what it takes to show leadership and spirit from the back more than Coyle, Jones or McLoughlin, who are three of our most senior players.
In real madrid and barca The captain is the one whose been there the longest Quite common in spain I always think we overblow the captain over here Every player shoukd be expected to set an example and rally the troops etc Being captain is a massive reward for loyalty etc You lift the trophy You lead the team onto the field You talk to the ref etc And a goal and aspiration for any other player on the team
We definitely lack leaders on ther pitch , there's nobody really Look at the body language of players when we go a goal down
Only one who currently shows anything like on field leadership / captain capability is ..... Pedro. And what a sorry state of affairs that is. Goes back to Rosie's tenure.
If we don’t win tomorrow, it doesn’t set us up very well for the second half of the season and gives Ruben an even bigger task than he already has. We would need promotion form just to climb to safety, a win once every two games until the end of the season without fail and hope we manage a couple of draws in there as well. We need a goal scorer in January as a priority. I want to see that before anything else, frankly.
As you say, a matter of opinion. I agree he needs to be more consistent, but the reason I think he's captain material is that I actually think he is one of very few in the team who actually try to lift the other players. When Burstow blazed that chance over last week, Slater was the one who went over to him with a sort of 'hard luck, keep going' gesture. For the most part, if our players make a mistake this season, they look pretty lonely. Has applied particularly to Kamara. Anyway, time will tell.
Wait, I can't keep up. Is Lewie Coyle the ****test player City have ever had, or Regan Slater? It's so confusing.
Imagine that back line up against Delap, Philogene, Carvahlo and Zaroury with Morton and Seri pulling strings behind em.....
