They won 0-2 at Cardiff on December 11th, but that result came after four consecutive draws, and they drew their last game too, 1-1 against Leeds. They sit 16th, two places and one point ahead of us, and their top scorer is former R, Will Keane, with 14 goals (he scored 0 in 10 for us). Their manager, Paul Heckingbottom, joined them in the summer after Ryan Lowe's departure...and he'll be hoping they can move up the table and push for a playoff place, or at least a top ten finish. As for us, we're now unbeaten in six games, quite a turnaround, which has seen us move out of the relegation zone and up to 18th. With Chair, and a few others, on the way back to first team action, the hope is that we'll go from strength to strength for the rest of the season, give Lloyd, Ashby and any other youngsters more experience, and secure a mid-table position and calm end to the season. I know I'm ever the optimist, but if it works out that way I'll be happy enough. Team news and manager comments to go up asap, enjoy if you'll be at HQ for the match, and as always... ...COME ON YOU SUPER HOOPSA!!!
There was a time I could have named you 20 players at some non-entity like Preston and their last few results and now I didn’t know who their manager is until I read your post. In my head they’ve still got Jon Parkin up front.
Cheers Dave. I hope Preston have moved on from the Alex Neil days of peak ****housery, but I won’t bank on it. Any luck I’ll be nicely anaesthetised by pre match drinks and company to care much whatever PNE do and even if we continue with our a point or death dire football. We need to start winning most of our home games.
Jon Parkin eh? Now there's a lump to remember. I saw him one summer's evening when York had just been relegated from the Football League when they got stuffed at Gateshead 6-1. He was pretty useless then as well and spent most of the Evening moaning that he had run as well when a pass was played into his path. He did score the penalty and celebrated as if he'd just scored the winning gal in extra time. His team mates pretty much ignored him.
Morning good people, match blog thing arriving sometime today, will be there on Saturday decking your balls with Christmas Holly, although she is not overly happy about it though. As for the gamesmanship we learnt it all from you guys and on that bombshell see you later
