Hopefully the next time Walker gets a proper smack the ref will tell him to stop messing about and get up.
I get what you're saying but if the punishment was retrospective red card and miss the next 3 matches, would they think it worth it? Referee can give yellow for an obvious dive or time wasting but they don't do it often enough. That should be a deterrent for diving, same with time wasting. With regard to possible head injuries specifically, the referee could check with the medics after they've treated the player and if it's obvious that it was a fake, then red card the player.
Clubs and players will take the 3 points all day. Thry take the dives. They take the red cards as the club can play someone else Imo they should be off the park and let their team suffer and keep putting another beside them if they try feign injury to time waste to get by. One other way is to just give a pen for every offense
On time wasting I've always felt a yellow card is useless. They can just rotate the act around the team and worst case scenario they get fined for too many yellows. Personally I thought world cup 2022 went the right way about dealing with it.
apparently this only merited a yellow card for the Monaco defender Willfried Singo please log in to view this image
Not being able to see a video makes it hard to judge. From the pic I saw the ball was up in the air so no idea if player has flicked it and keeper come sliding out into his path. Not like he kicked him in the face at head height. Not sure can fully blame the player for having his foot a foot about the ground.
I've just checked out the video. Singo is trying to score and he kicks the ball along the ground as the goalkeeper is advancing, the keeper goes down and blocks the shot, Singo tries to jump over him but his judgement in how high he needs to jump to get over him is very poor and instead of jumping right over him, studs him in the face.
A game decided by poor goalkeeping. Spurs went into panic mode when it was 3-2 and were lucky Utd did not equalise
