Is this commentator ok? Quansah drags him down? Touching someone wi tv their arm isn’t dragging someone down. Saints player felt an arm and crumbled to the floor ffs
There has been glimpses of what he can do but does need a lot of work on physicality and work rate at the moment
Phew ! surprised Nunez did the whole 90 Morton neat but Nyonyi bit anonymous tbh , Main plus some of first 11 got a proper rest with not even travelling
Great result! Couldn’t watch it but so glad that we rotated and still came out with the win! Will be interested to see the highlights to see how some of the youngsters got on.
Job done. Pretty comfortable first half. Changes made a difference in 2nd where no real Defence in place. Bit unlucky how the goal cane with huge deflection but brilliant finish. Prob could have had a couple more with Chiesa missing great chance then 2 very good blocks. Overall just about getting through the round and resting some key players was even better. Bring on the next round.
When is the draw? Semi-finals are looking quite tasty tbf; Liverpool, Arsenal, Newcastle and either Spurs or Man Utd
Exasperating second half, but really it was a team that hardly know each other at first team level so not surprising. It was more like a Klopp LC team.
I get that, if you do a pro and con list, there's more cons than pros with Chiesa. No pre season, injured, ravaged by injuries in recent years so has barely played and now we're asking him to step up to a more physical league. Even if he avoids injuries for the rest of the season, I'm not expecting miracles from him this season - which is why I get why people are down on him. This guy can finish though - which is what Nunez gets slated for not being able to do - I'd argue that peak Chiesa was more clinical than Salah, and that isn't something you either learn or lose, regardless of injuries. He's also very quick and he was able to beat his man during his peak - though whether he can at PL level after so many injuries remains to be seen.
He couldn't get into it at first, nobody seemed to want to play it out to the right, but when he did start to get involved I thought he did alright. I think there's a player in there that we might see when he's worked his way back to match fitness and gets some more time in. Just need him to avoid any more injuries.
This woman saying Nunez first touch was bad it went away from him? His first touch got it out of his feet and created an angle for him, not sure what she wants him to do?
So Endo gets a ball full in the face, game continues and Saints go on to score - yet the game gets stopped when a player goes down holding his head even when there has clearly been no contact there.
I often find that punditry these days just suits viral narratives, especially in the mainstream. If it was Salah they'd be talking about how brilliant it was.
Can't believe the ****ing cretinous commentator driveling on and on about a pen either - it was two yards outside the box, ffs. Tbf to Izzy (she ain't the worst), the commentators are worse than the pundits.
