Claimed, Starmer may have, but I was happy to wait until they managed to see the crooks books, and then plan their budget from there.
But they’ve blatantly lied so that they can go back on manifesto promises that won them the election whilst convincing their voters that it’s the fault of the previous government. Every day is a new broken promise and people are still defending it, it’s wild. I can see how Hitler convinced so many Germans now
In a choice between a party that royalty f*cked up the economy and wasted billions on contracts for their mates that were never delivered, a party led by Farage who only does anything for his own self interest and is becoming a puppet for that lunatic Musk, or a party who won't spend blindly on things that we can't afford and aren't afraid to make tough decisions to try and kick start the economy. I'd chose the latter every time. They are far from perfect and I don't agree with the blanket removal of heating allowances for pensioners for example but at least they aren't afraid of tough decisions and on the face of it certainly aren't as corrupt as the other two (Tories will never lose the title to be fair). It's going to be a tough year or two but I fully expected that from any party that would put the economy first. I'm certain we will come through it in a much better position.
To be honest none of this will matter depending on what Trump does when he gets in office...it's absolutely frightening.
Rich or well off? The people I know whinging can afford tens of thousands for cars. Just because you don’t know them doesn’t mean they’re not complaining. As for the means tested, it’s the right thing to do. But you have to do it the right way as well. If people are means tested correctly and cannot afford it, then something has gone wrong. I don’t know anyone (luckily) in that boat. You obviously do
Has any other government totally lost the public within 6 months of taking over? The fact reform are polling ahead of them.. come on mate
Mate I’m not supporting what Labour have done! Just that it doesn’t matter who is in charge, their manifesto to win the election is always a grey area once they’re in power.
I see Starmer has knocked back the WASPI claim. 5 years of pension the good wife missed out on. Thats around 40k.
Tonight Starmer reckons 90% of the women were told about it and did nothing about it, my missus knew nothing about it. I don’t know about yours. You have to remember though this has come from the most lying bastard MP we’ve ever had.
My Sister (very well educated etc) is a stonewall Labour person, and has been a party member for years. She cannot stand Starmer, as he’s a lying snake on an ego trip. Bart
The choices are grim mate. I wouldnt put the the tories back in. Reform makes me feel sick. I voted Libs but under the current system I might as well have not bothered. My problem with Labour is I believe they had a manifesto that was completely unaffordable and undeliverable. I think they knew it too. Independant economists called it out. Either they arent the brightest bunch, or they knew they were spinning a yarn. Then they come in and make a complete balls of the first 6 months. They had green shoots in the economy when taking office, but have all but eradicated them. Their constant talking down of the economic chances gave the city and business a cold, their really naieve budget has put a massibe wet blanket over the country at large. I wouldnt be surprised at all if we need a spring budget, mini or emergency, before the NI stuff lands. I just dont think they are particularly competent mate. They havent even got the moral high ground anymore. Keirs glasses, suits, accomodation etc, plus the other Labour MPs caught taking so called gifts. It may not be on a scale of tory squalor, but it casts them in a light they promised us we wouldnt see. It is all just embarassing idiocy from all parties frankly. Until we find a way to have competent folk in top seats we will bounce from Labour to Tory ever few years and get the same results from both. My view anyway.
Have you you noticed how the smarmy bastard always exaggerates everything. On the news this morning it was going to be £10 billion but when Starmer repeats it it’s 10s of billions. Gormless prick.
