It would be interesting to know how many times the bridge has been lifted to let boats through, the river looks more like a little stream now. Like the drains it's not been cleaned for years.
December 2013 was an extreme event and all the area covered by the new underpass was flooded right up Ferensway. Water will find a way Im afraid.
The river defences right from Paull to the Humber bridge have been raised about 4/5 foot since that surge . It' would probably take a failure in the tidal barrier to cause that level of flooding now . I'd be more worried living the other side of the river
