    Keep the faith Libby.
Think a competent manager could get a tune out of this lot if organised and set up correctly. The other 3 teams I mentioned really aren’t that great either and if we could just put a mini run together.

Now I’ve read a bit about him he seems like a decent low risk option in the sense that we give him this season, see if there is something to work with and if not get rid at the end of the season and hire someone like Corberan when we are more attractive. Seems like a sensible approach, so we almost certainly won’t do it that way. Probably give him a 10 year deal and sack him 6 months into it

Would expect in the next 24 hours to have a top candidate starting to leak from journalists etc.
When Ralph went, Jones had been linked quite strongly as RM was when Selles was told he wouldn’t be getting offered a contract.
No real strong rumours yet, just a few on Rohl which seem pretty weak.
Really hope SR had been putting out some feelers a few weeks ago at least?

So compo for Rohl shouldn't be an issue.

Sounds like a diplomatic way of saying they've given up. Fair enough.

Can’t see the club going down that root again of paying big compo

Depends what “big” means. It’s all relative as we’ve said before. £5m maybe big compensation for a manager but it gets you **** all in terms of a player and getting the right manager is far more important

Yeah, if Saints feel really strongly about Rohl they'll surely pay it.

You’d think so, it’s the risk of what could happen for the rest of the season that would make me wary. Seems much more logical to appoint someone on a deal til the end of the season and see how they do, and doubtful Rohl would take that

It would be good to have a manager that lets the players play instinctively instead of the tight passing game we have endured with just Dibling and Fernandes playing naturally.
Let’s move from painting by numbers to a renaissance style of art with freedom of expression.

Oh Rohl would be on a 3 year deal, no way they take him (or get him) on a 'see how you go' basis until the end of the season.

Yeah I think any employed manager would be on a multi year deal. Obviously could work out but I just think the board will be wary of it not working and needing to pay off another manager before next season. So therefore the unemployed option on a shorter “prove it” type deal

Didn't realise SR were busy trying to hire a new manager at Valenciennes too after a poor start in the French third division.

    At least they have Goztepe...

Doesn’t fit with the ‘10 year plan’ though.
