The minute that 3rd goal hit the back of the net is what football is all about. The noise, the joy it's what football is all about.

For me, it's made me more determined to ignore the loud bloke at home games that demands perfection as I know he's a minority

I tried sitting in my own SOL seat but couldn't abide the whinging from all the 'experts' around me.

So I find a seat in the half we're attacking and move a few rows if there's another misery ...

... during the Stoke match I went into the standing area where everyone was up for it.

I just can't abide how RLB, Rigg, Jobe, Patterson, Isidor, etc, are all useless if we go a goal down ...

... we stupidly keep playing against teams who also want to win <laugh>

Unfortunately I can't move seats, but even my dad who's going deaf is getting fed up and we will be looking for new seats next season.

As dad says, what fun can they get from constantly being negative

That's the problem right there, they really enjoy it because it makes them feel superior to those who stupidly 'keep the faith'.

They look down on those who can't see what's so obvious to them ...

..and if they turn out to be wrong when they shout 'GAME OVER' they'll claim no one is more delighted than them to be proved wrong.

Not true, I'm more pleased than them they've been proved wrong <laugh>

I've heard at least twice this season " how can I enjoy the weekend when this lot spoil it"

There's seemingly no happy medium. No acceptance that if Patto, Hume, Neil, Jobe etc could ping 70 yard balls like prime Beckenbaur, Pele, Alison etc they wouldn't be playing for us.

    Exactly.

It's like playing with big odds, in your favour, and predicting we won't finish top, won't set the PL alight, won't win the FA Cup ...

    ... yeah, big deal you're a genius <doh>

Of course a bunch of young kids, with a young manager who's new to England, will make mistakes ffs.

People were absolutely screaming for Rigg and Jobe to go off ...

... but just can't bring themselves to admit they were totally and utterly wrong.

Talking about Rigg, he was sprinting after their defenders in the last minutes of the game. I couldn’t believe the energy he still had left. Proved me a know nowt who thought he desperately needed resting.

That's goal meant just as much to the lads as it did to us.

I'd rather watch that every week and accept the occasionaly we might not be good enough. I fell foul the other week on here and I apologise for that, but sometimes it feels like standards are set to high

M8 I walked in the pub Saturday having not seen the game to be told mayenda was **** and shouldn’t play again which to me was unbelievable since I’ve watched the whole game and can’t see what they were on about yes he made a couple of mistakes but he tried his best and did well over 90 mins in my opinion there were others that made more errors than him but the whole team pulled together and came up trumps love these lads

Good post mate, very good ...

... we're just lucky these kids don't throw the towel in as easily as some supporters.

Have you ever said anything in the heat of a game that turned out to be wrong? If you have then i'm not sure you should be taking the high road here. Especially someone who tried to slag off Mayenda after the game.

O'Nien should've been starting, he helps us in every game play the style we want to play. I think he's the best passer of a football at the club so when we try to play out from the back he's crucial. However, it was more the tweak that pushed the midfield up 10 yards that changed the game, not the O'Nien substitution.

I also think the lack of changes at times has cost us as much as the changes in recent matches have helped, it's swings and roundabouts but the fact we've had just 1 goal and 1 assist (in the same game) from substitutes suggests we do infact have a bit of a problem in that area.

We're 4th, touching distance to the auto places and well within the playoff positions. I'm not sure digging out someone who falls on the positive side of things is the correct way to go but you do you smug.

I didn't slag him off, I said there seems to be something amiss with him and stand by that ...

... there's virtually no reaction to Neil's goal which I find very strange.

I'm not taking the high road, just giving my opinion that some posters can't post without shouting and being personal.

If they can do that surely I'm entitled an opinion as well.

Of course I've been wrong about calls during a game but they're only ever my opinion, not ridiculing the manager.

I wasn't even 'digging you out' particularly ...

... my first question was, did you think the two Swansea subs helped cost them the game?

The second was, did you think O'Nien helped us get upfield?

No think they played no part in it, we forced the issue they couldn't handle it.

No, not really. It was Jobe, Neil and the two wide forwards who carried the ball upfield. Like I said, it was the tactical tweak not the sub that changed the game for us.

The sub was the tactical tweak mate. We went to a 3 back in attack

Not so sure on that from watching it back. O'Niens average position is higher and wider than Cirkins aswell. Obviously could be wrong on that but the midfield was the key to the comeback for me.

To be honest I don’t really care what the tactics were. I wouldn’t understand them anyway. Bottom line is that we scored three goals and they scored two. We won and they lost.

it certainly wasn't just a 'LB for LB and keep playing exactly the same' change.

O'Nien was going from player to player, including Dan Neil, clearly giving instructions. Those two got us further up the pitch and Neil knew O'Nien could cover for him in a way Cirkin wouldn't. But my real point was that substitutions can sometimes do more harm than good. Swansea looked unsure who was marking who and Neil ran virtually unchallenged with players watching him.

They were disrupted by the changes and Sunderland took full advantage.

It's being said, quite often, that RLB should trust his bench ...

... all I'm saying is that perhaps we should trust his judgement in that regard.
