As deluded as this is, I think it's quite nice she's standing by her man <laugh>

    Thank God he's left though.

People responding to this as if its serious, isn't that a pretty common meme she has posted there?

    So she is actually joking.

Shes probably laughing today, shes a Saints fan so can look forward to our glorious rebirth under a new manager, she no longer needs to see us get whalloped then listen to her deluded bloke go on about 'bravery' afterwards and she gets to enjoy some of the pay off money, win win.

She hasn’t posted anything. The original tweet is just a joke.

I reckon the squad with some adjustments is just about ok to provide an escape as, right or wrong I’m not so sure they really had bought into his insistence to play as they did. Recent games overall the response from the players was getting gradually worse and last night the white flag went up from them? They will also do a lot better if they get properly FIT!! My big concern is if, whoever gets the job isn’t offered a stupid length contract after an unexpected win as before with Selles.

I've changed my poll vote to 'Stick with him, he'll turn it around.'

    Have faith brothers and sisters.

To be fair, Selles was only given until the end of the season (at which point he was let go)

Was so sure that they were never gonna sack him, that I still can't really believe he's actually been sacked, and that they're gonna announce his re-hiring in the next few days. That's what trauma does to a man

Tyler Dibling liking that post will hopefully not have any impact on him signing the new contract in front of him.
RM was a decent man manager and seemed to know how to keep players happy, probably to the detriment of the football played.
Hopefully the next guy will be a good motivator and able to keep some distance between himself and the players and not try to be “one of the guys”.

My gut feeling is that those jumping for joy will be crying foul again in a few weeks. I don't think he could have kept his job but for all his faults Martin did his best and was well liked by his players. HIS players, he rebuilt that squad for all its faults and believed that spirit would survive over mercenary talent and was probably right - his faults were his downfall rather than the things he did well. The next manager will not have the bond with the squad and will have all the weaknesses that the likes of BBD, Aribo, Armstrong, Wee man etc etc have had since before Martin came in. Failing to recognise that Martin got us promoted and did a great job is mean spirited in the worst way. Entitled fan bullshit disconnected from reality.

I simply cannot see a 'better' manager getting a different outcome at the end of the season. So celebrate now because the joy will be short lived I reckon it will be back to losing every week in a different way starting on weds. We will likely get a manager we've never heard of that that will relegate us to the championship anyway and after that, its anyone's guess.

I really hope I'm astonished at who we sign in a good way. I really do.

Martin did well to restore squad harmony and got the fans enjoying the football again. But reaching the play offs was the bare minimum requirement with the squad he had. He did a great job winning the play offs but we had some real issues during the season as well. His flaws were somewhat disguised last season due to having a vastly superior squad to most of the other teams. But even last season we conceded ****loads. Apparently the total GD over his Saints tenure was -1. He can't set up a defence to save his life which is odd considering he was a CB himself.

Sure we'll probably get relegated again, but I for one am glad Martin won't be managing us back in the Championship.

I agree with some parts here, but you're seemingly having a pop at people who are pleased the Martin madness has been arrested. Using terms like entitled fan bulshit etc, seems like a weird thing to say when we have lost 13 out of 16 games, we have something like 4 points.

Pretty ****ty responses those parts calling fans who have put up with this bollocks, entitled. I didn't particularly like Martin last season, couldn't stand the football, and thought he was a smug bell end.

The team we had last season, promotion was the requirement some don't look at it that he excelled, he did his job and almost ****ed that up.

To me calling out people as entitled isn't so fair or logical. Sure we are likely down anyway, so would you expect us to have carried on with the way we are playing, being instructed to play?

Or do we go down trying for a better identity, with a better manager in charge?

Sticking with Martin would have wrecked next season also, the damage he has done has time to be rectified in some respects, namely putting up a fight, winning some games, and having some actual fun trying.

Hopefully you can see a different perspective, who knows, maybe that makes me entitled...

I’ve heard the entitled fans thing quite a few times from different places too, and I don’t get it at all. First up, I don’t think there’s a single other fan base currently in the PL (except maybe Ipswich), who would have given a manager as long as we have this season given the results. Most others would have started to turn after 5 games, and way before 10. And second up, all we are really asking for at this point, is to avoid taking Derbys crown off them as the worst side in PL history, something we are still dangerously on track for. We knew this season was going to be a struggle to stay up, but you want to actually be involved in a fight for survival. Some attempt to stay up would be nice.
