So I have been harsh on him recently but I think its more frustration for the lack of action on what was clearly a complete folly this season. Thanks for getting us back up here RM, shame it hasn't worked out this time out.
Just a short contract until the end of the season, with a big bonus if they can keep us up. Then revaluate in the summer. Get us playing with some passion, belief, urgency, take some chances in attacking positions. What's Pardew up to these days?
Thanks and bye RM. one dimensional and inexperienced at this level. Grateful for the championship season and I expect he will be missed by the squad more than the fans. I have very low expectations now in terms of a successor. I expect we will be poaching championship talent ready for relegation.
I want a Poch style bastard who has high standards - not a journeyman. First job is get the ****ers in for double fitness sessions, like Poch did.
Got a text from a Spuds fan tonight at 0-4 a customer work colleague - first time he’s ever text me. Said, don’t be smug as any ****ing team could beat RM’s team & tactics!? He was genuinely surprised, thinking RM was a young & up & coming manager! I just thanked he for the best present Spurs could have given us
From what little I can gather, it sounds like Rohl is still following the Ralph path which was pressing and demanded high fitness, although im not sure it ever reached Poch levels. The opposite sounds like Matos who is defensive solidity first. SR will probably find an RM clone instead.
Haven't they had to pay themselves out of a ten year contract? That sounds a difficult decision to me!
Sometimes you must reach rock bottom to be able to facilitate change and last nights capitulation was certainly that, never have I witnessed such a shambolic display from a group of professional footballers. RM had to fall on his sword after that and be removed from his position for his sanity and ours. On reflection I'm confused how I feel about his tenure at the club, yes he did a lot of good things but ultimately his inability to change was his downfall and things all turned sour very quickly. I do think the other Prem managers praising his style were blowing smoke up his arse knowing that "his style" led to Saints coughing up easy chances and that they ( the other prem managers ) had a simple 3 points versus us. Perhaps he needed stronger staff around him who'd say " Hey Russ this isn't working mate.....we really need to try something else!" but unfortunately pride arrogance stubbornness whatever every it was stood in his way. Thanks Russ for what you achieved in the Championship and I do hope you've learnt something positive from this debacle in the Prem, it's been truly awful buddy.
Which is why I'm fine with either of those options. Conceicao would be great, but is probably a pipe dream.
This. I think a fat Sam type appointment now would be a massive step back. Tactically we need pragmatism and working to the players strengths not the kind of football Allardice serves up. I know he did ok with Bolton but since then he’s pretty much done nothing.
Plymouth Argyle have a manager with bags of international experience that may be moving soon.....maybe player/manager?
Does Lucy come with the job? Only asking because I used to manage our village third XI, we weren't very successful but sometimes it's all hands to the pump and it's a sacrifice I'd be willing to make. Mending a fence today but I'll leave the ansa-phone switched on.
