I think last season ended up being almost perfect for him. He's a good man manager so could gee the players up and had close to the best, if not THE best, squad in the division so could play his style of football and mostly succeed. This season I'm afraid he's been shown up.
If all his fans are correct he'll be rocking up at a club like Juventus soon anyway so can't feel bad for him.
Best to go into next season relegated with about 18 points and people saying 'Saints really picked up from a doomed position' than 'The team was relegated with a Premier League all-time low points record' I guess.
I'm genuinely curious where he goes after us. Millwall job is free, imagine him trying the tippy tappy style there..... In reality a stint at Norwich probably seems inevitable.
Yeah Norwich is my guess. It certainly won't be a big club like some people were bizarrely claiming not too long ago. Millwall would be funny. No matter who it is you can guarantee they'll do the double over us next season.
Sheffield Wednesday fans cacking themselves about us coming in for Rohl (in a way that Swans fans weren't when we went for RM).
Can’t help but feel if it was all done and sorted pre-match then that’s some (characteristically) shocking management from SR. What kind of team is supposed to get up for playing a game where the manager knows he’s gone afterward? You’ve basically put the team in the perfect position for a guaranteed battering. Anyone with a brain cell knew how toxic it would be if there was a bad start so the fact the club knowingly put him in that position is plain wrong and may be a deterrent to any prospective manager if they know that’s how they’ll be treated.
Given how we started, and the body language of the players at the end ... would all make sense. SR can get to ****.
Never thought I'd say it but... Thanks, Spurs. We owe you one. Also, does this mean Lucy Pinder is single again?
One things for sure - this is the highest level Martin will manage at for a very long time imo. Got lucky to manage us at the right time. (Good players, needed a man manager)) Won’t be so lucky again. I wouldn’t be surprised if, like jones, league one is actually his level
Thanks for the good times Russ. I hope you learn from this and develop some other tactics. No shame in moving away from your principles when it suits and first season back in the Premier League with a largely Championship squad is most definitely one of those times! 100% he beats us when he next faces us!! Onwards and upwards(hopefully) now! Give it to someone who has been there and done it before(not Harry!). We haven't got time to get someone who needs to learn on the job!
Sport Republic inviting a random collection of season ticket holders to meet with the ownership on Wednesday night prior to the Liverpool match, I hear
Interesting to see who we get next. Can’t see anyone being able to come in and save us, and think it will be hard for someone to come in now with so long of the season left and mount a promotion push next season whilst still keeping the fans on side this season.
I just think a dinosaur is what we need. The club currently has zero standards or experience. Someone like fat Sam shouting at them and teaching them how to defend would be good for everyone
One of them becoming the new manager? Reminds me of that Dream Team show that was on ages ago where they decided to do a random raffle and who ever won was the new owner of the club. Some fans of the team they were playing that day had snuck into the home end and won, carnage ensued
