Yeah I thought that as well. He’s never looked like or alluded to thinking he’ll be sacked, until tonight. I guess with the record he has this season, being 5 down at half time at home logically seems like something nobody can survive
Wolves sacked O'Neil who are 4 points better off than us. He should be out by 9am tomorrow. If he's not, then I'm truly ****ing concerned about who's running the club.
You could see the cogs turning at every question to not just say what he really thought. When he said the mentality to a set back is poor and was then asked why he thinks that is he was really trying not to say what he really thought eg the players are complete pussies
This is totally nuts, how can he not be sacked after this evening? I mean we just lost 5 nil at home? This is beyond bizarre! I cant believe what I have have just witnessed!
I mean i'd give it until the morning, but yeah its hard to tell with this club whether this will be enough, when it should have been enough a month ago.
It’s absurd that he’s still here now tbh. Should have been gone after Bournemouth at the very latest. The fact he’s still here has done incalculable damage to the team
We are going down, amazingly, we are not yet as bad as I expected us to be. The win against Everton (just) is more than I expected at the start of the season. I couldn’t see any wins this season. Perhaps a few draws, giving us 4 or 5 points. Getting promoted was a few weeks of elation, but it was always going to end in tears. Inexperienced owners, inexperienced manager, in experienced players. A depressing situation, but it’s only football.
Genuinely loved that second half. A nice mixture of going through the song book, gallows humour, and Martin out chants. Credit to everyone who stayed and restored some pride. It says a lot about our season that I enjoyed that second half more than any other this season bar Everton Pathetic away support from Tottenham tbh. Almost as bad as our team
Agreed, best I've heard the Northam all season. Thought Spurs fans were decent enough. Could have taken the piss a lot more.
Probably some of that and also not being able to hear them above the 2-3000 in your near vicinity. I hate that we've moved the away fans tbh. Old setup was much better.
Could there be an element of no one who we consider worth appointing really wanting the job. I’m not going to say “no one” because it’s still a premier league club that will likely challenge at the top of the championship next season
Had a few Leeds fans messaging me during that game saying the usual what is the point in Saints, worst club in history etc Asked them if they were going to get promoted this season and they all said they hoped not as the PL would see them getting battered every week. They’ve also said that Captain Pointless has been one of their best players, which probably reinforces how they’d do next season if they got promoted
And have been for several seasons. We only seem to pick good lads who will get on well with each other, with the manager and our opponents. JWP was hardly a bruiser, but he was our last **** houser. Captain Jack is just a loose cannon recently, not a leader. If you can’t outplay a team, then out muscle them. We do neither.
