I only seen bits of the game due to poor internet on camp, was annoyed at first goal but the second is a great free kick. Our replies were fantastic and deserving of 3points. The one thing I did notice were when we did attack, even in the first half we did commit more bodies into the box.
I think RLB has asked for a slight change and first 45 they had not come to grips with it but as the game wore on !!!

There’s no question their first goal looked a mess with our keeper and defence.

But in fairness … the back line has changed half a dozen times recently, it showed and no one was taking charge. Patterson could’ve expected a better defensive header, Ballard and Mepham seemed unsure who was attacking the ball.

This isn’t a pro-Luke post but it does usually seem more organised when he’s there.

Watched most of it back. The tactical shift to get 10 yards up was significantly obvious into the second half. Made us play on the front foot and stopped Swansea having it all their own way. Allowed our players to hassle and press too.

That has to be the standard.

Special mention to Roberts too. Grafted all game and caused issues. Once again getting those second assists.

Why are Refs so keen to card our players, 4-1 to us yesterday and what I've seen we're picking cards up for very little.
When are we ever going to get a level playing field from the officials?

Said this to my lad yesterday. I know it's not his postion but give it a damn good go!!! He wasn't tracking back like Watson or Mundle do and his touch/shooting!!! His body language was all wrong. I think we try someone else there and put him on the bench. Even Rusyn would have got more joy out of that full back yesterday.

Didn’t see the game as was billeted away for the weekend with no WiFi and barely any mobile reception.

How is RLB going to solve the O9 conundrum? He’s clearly vital to our team and how we play but where does he fit in? I was always a fan of going Mepham-Ballard at the back but Tuesday showed how much we missed O9’s ability to bring the ball out of defence.

I wonder if RLB is would consider some sort of hybrid CM/CDM solution for him that would allow Neil further up and Rigg to be rested. Even then it’s only a short term fix so no idea how you fit 5 into 4 (or 6 if you include Alese)

That's all I'm saying, I'm not jumping on the lad and I really rate him.

I defy anyone to look at those three goals and say he was doing everything possible to contribute.

During Hume's run up and cross he's allowing the defended to dominate him without putting up any kind of fight.

For Neil's goal he virtually stops running instead of getting in to support.

Same with the third goal, he's a virtual spectator.

There are people who enjoy analysing tactics ...

... I'd love them to explain it to me because I just don't get it.

I do sometimes wonder if we are being a bit biased when we say stuff like this but I think the same thing week in week out.

We seem to get free kicks against us for challenges the other the other team get away with and most the time our lads are waved at to get up. Then it's the same for yellows some weeks a certain player will get away with 2 or 3 tackles that are borderline or out right yellows and one of ours gets a yellow first time they put in similar!

I sit and wonder if all fans sit thinking the same thing bur for me it's obvious most weeks. I tell myself surely it is just my red and white specs and the refs aren't out for us! Roberts challenge for their first would have been waved on and our wingers told to get up imo!

That Jobe guy interview, the mentality and poise of the lad. He is absolutely incredible.

He’s essentially a kid and he talks so clean and passionately. He is going to have some incredible career, never mind buying players we need to be buying the Bellingham’s parents DNA and breeding them.

The passion he shows for the club is wonderful. You’re a Brum lad with a brother at the biggest club in the world but living in the here and now and putting it all in is just something utterly stunning to see really, he is a credit to his family, to everyone who’s ever coached him and of course to us all.

Want to add a side note, kits been out some time now, and I dunno if it’s just me but I still, every time I see the lads in it, think it just looks so good, it’s an absolute beauty.

Hummel have a right job on getting close to it next season.

I’ve watched it from a lot of angles and the ball gently loops up! Think it’s terrible keeping. It’s an easy catch and an easier punch imo of course. Even Cirkin (I think) was almost breaking away for the throw after he caught it!

The goalkeeper is the boss of the box especially the 6 yard box. He will know he was at fault. Fundamental mistake by Patto.

    100% on Patti that.

Not gonna hang the pad out to dry here but he is definitely one that seems to have levelled out in terms of progress.

He needs to get in shape and focus and get his head back on.

I hope he does, being a local lad, but he’s on borrowed time.

He does so much so well but then fails on some real basics. He can go either way it’s on him to decide which.

There’s the majority of a smashing keeping in the lad.

Not basing this view on yesterday, basing it over several months.

Absolutely agree with this. He was the “next Pickford” not long ago but he’s not progressed to anywhere near that. Hope he does get his game back on to where he was. I felt sorry for Moore after his brief spell, thought he did nothing wrong at all and it was rough on him being dropped!

Aye Moore was immaculate. I understand the decision cos Patts is number 1 and also at a really important age to be playing.

He has to own it though. Even with his flaws he is one of the best in this league, but he’s capable and got it in him to do more for sure.
