And it’s quite easy to trace where the money in players sales has gone to so his argument isn’t relevant
He sure did, but as I said to him....that's the club, acun hasn't seen a return on his investment which is what he was claiming
Old man Allam was the saviour and hero of the club for three years when he saved us from administration and bankrolled our promotion to the Premier League. That was until he wasn’t when he spat his dummy out over the proposed name change. Acun has picked up and dropped two clubs in Fortuna Sittard and Shelbourne already when he was told ‘no’. What’s to stop him throwing his dummy out once public opinion loudly shifts against him here? He strikes me as a deeply-insecure guy who craves adulation rather than a pragmatic businessman. That’s why he does these gaudy stunts like free holidays. Do you see Brighton or Brentford’s owners behave erratically the way he does? No, they’re just hard-nosed businessmen who delegate to pragmatic and efficient DoFs. Hull City is just the ‘Acun Show’ to stroke his gigantic ego. I find him deeply unimpressive and insincere. Someone who is better as a propagandist than running a football club.
No one could have guessed the disaster that Walter turned out to be. Luckily we have more than half a season left, a transfer window and a Manager with strengths where Walter had weaknesses. As for this thread, some of you should just **** off and go support a Premuer League team instead.
Don’t blame Acun for going for Walter. I do blame him for leaving him in the position too long and only sacking him because the fans shouted him out.
...nor that Millar AND Belloumi would have season ending ACLs, and we'd lose Alzate for weeks, etc. As for Acun ""spitting his dummy out if...". Yep, he's said from the start he's in it for the long term unless he wasn't wanted. So if the fans turn on him then yes he'll be gone. Btw, it s nothing whatsoever like with Fortuna nor Shelbourne. Why do some post such crap? He's made some bad decision but I'm sure always with best intentions for our club, and he's been badly advised and let down by some of those he's delegated to. I think we'd be absolutely mental to drive him out without seeing what can happen under Selles and new brooms with Dublin in place.
No doubt Acun is looking for a return but you can literally search up the accounts and read up on page 5 that no dividends were paid.
The first few years under Assem was just about the best owner you could wish for. They showed ambition without being reckless yet publicly admitted that he knew nothing about football, so brought people in who did. This was pretty refreshing as a lot of owners seem to come in and play real life 'football manager'. Football seems to bring weird traits out of owners. Like Acun purchased Kappa Turkey, but I couldn't imagine he did it because he wanted to design sportswear (as he wouldn't have a clue what he's doing), so why do you do it with football?
You can't answer the question can you haha, it's ok, you can admit it and no I don't think he's doing it for free, he's doing it to see a return on his investment. Which he will only see if we're successful and back in the Prem. I'm not so stupid as to think he's already seen a return on his investment in us, perhaps you are....
I agree. Up until the name change bollocks, the Allams were by far the greatest owners we’ve ever. The Allams actually delivered on promotion within their first three years. Acun has taken us backwards.
I don't really see where we go in January either to turn this ****show around. We need players in early, but because of our predicament you'd expect a fair few loans, but we'll also struggle to attract/compete with other Championship sides. The only logical place is to try and take the best of L1. We need players who have been playing regularly and are used to the competitive nature/physicality of English football.
We'll have to to bring some quality in and drag us up the division. Surely he's looking to sell though now
If you're talking about acun, it wouldn't surprise me to see him go in summer, if we stay up and more importantly, if he can find a buyer. If you're talking players, we're actively trying to offload around 4/5 plus some of the loans I'd say
He must be banking on Fenerbache giving him some form of success because his time here has been a complete cluster ****
Must kill him knowing all his decisions have set us back. Walter/Shota set us back a full season each, both of which were his decision. Shota a pal and Walter because Calhanoglu recommended him, which is a pretty good thing but you’ve then got to back it up in the transfer market
I'd love to know what his thought process is and how he honestly feels. Surely he knows his tenure has been a failure to date.
I know you understand how things work but it frightens me how few other people on here actually seem to grasp how things work at a club like ours. It's pointless trying to explain things to people.
