I still cant believe we got Jobe for under 3m 2 years ago when his talent was obvious, and no other Premiership team came in for him. Youd expect someone like Brighton to be all over a player like him
If you cant love a footballer after that you never will. We seem to have a squad of players who simply love the club and the game. They look like they want to soak up every last minute they can with us. Rigg jumping up and down like a lunatic, Wilson with the worlds biggest smile, Jobe with his absolute passion, Hume with his take on the world attitude, ONien with his win at all costs approach. I have been watching this club for a long time now, and this little group of mostly young lads make me feel as proud as any other side in my time. They actually look like it means as much to them as it would to any of us supporters. I wonder how many other clubs could say that. Lets not sell any of them ever, and just keep enjoying them
something RLB has always said, he likes the lads on the pitch to work things out rather than relying on him to keep shouting out, as jobe says he had been talking to wilson about making runs and so far this season we have seen at least three players have bad runs and have come out the other side filled with more confidence in themselves...maybe it is good that RLB is the coach, eh?
That sums up my feelings exactly. It may sound very proactive and decisive to keep shouting for changes of systems and early substitutions ... ... but how will young players ever learn and what does it do to their confidence if they're hooked too early.
Fair enough that mind. We looked a level above them in the second half. Decent coach though that lad, and a really good back story, I hope he does well.
I said a while ago he and his brother will play for England next world cup. Might be 2 years early, but he has the attitude and mentality for it.
Last season Jobe was supposed to have a secret agreement to play every game even though it was wearing him out ... ... that was proved not only to be nonsense but also ignores the fact that last season made him what he is this season. So it's frustrating to see exactly the same comments being made about Rigg. As Jobe so eloquently put it 'young players can only progress by facing the challenges and finding ways to get through them'.
Aye hard to argue with that, I’m glad we have Règis in the dugout and not a reactionary gobshite like myself, haven’t stopped grinning tonight, this ****ing club man
Yep. I've noticed players talking to each other in games and appearing to make decisions. Maybe not always right, and maybe sometimes from the bench as well, but thinking for yourself is what makes a top level footballer. On Chris, I'd like to see him get a break soon. He can run all day and all that, and is still easily worth his place which is frightening for a lad who was still sixteen in the summer!. But we have to look after him if we can, and just let him have a fortnight off, maybe away from training for half of it. Mental more than physical I suppose. I think the break has been a huge boost for Jobe, just a kid himself of course.
