Reading the Ivy Grower’s blog this morning and appears Chianti Classico suffered a serious tendon injury up the Cheltenham hill yesterday. Doesnt sound good at all for the festival winner. CC ran a mighty race off 157 with 12 stone on his back. Very sad if that’s him finished with racing or worse. At Donny today a little ew speculation on Docpickedme @ 28/1 in the Bet365 Chase. Has won over course and distance, is back to his last winning mark and decent claimer allowance too. Has had a couple of hurdle runs this season presumably to tune him up for a staying chase. Good luck all.
15:00 Cheltenham - Clondaw General e/w Grade-2, Class-1, Novices' Hurdle over 3m on good-to-soft ground This Milan gelding (Damsire: Take Risks) is a P2P winner over 3m on soft ground and looks to be a very useful stayer in the making. Decent debut under Rules when winning a 4-runner Novice Hurdle over 2m7f on soft going at Worcester in October. Jonathan Burke rides for the Kim Bailey yard. 4/1 early-doors top price, in all places on the ATR site.
Both backed hard - Kinturk losing by a nose and Wendells coming from well back to nab a 3rd. EW Double paid out at least. Worth following the rest of his runners this month.
Great start for Majborough over fences today - he's the first Triumph winner I can remember to go chasing on his very next run.
For me this was the performance of the day. Appeared way off the pace but the manner in which Bowen took off up the hill weaving through the pack, running on at the end. Better things to come???!
Without a doubt, it was unbelievable. I had lost all hope, in fact you can't even see her on television, and suddenly she was like a shot. A few more yards and would have won the race.
