**** off VAR Think it was vinnie jones talking about offside, and that if any part of your body (not limbs) is in line with the body of the defender it should be onside. I’m inclined to agree with him. Offside was bought in for the sake of an inch.
Decisions like that are just a shambles and nobody will ever convince me otherwise. “Leaned” into an offside position. How the f*ck is being an inch ahead of your man because you’re leaning in any way shape or form gaining an advantage.
But they can take the free kick outside the box? If they aren't bothered about the odd yard or 5 for a throw in or free kick, why bother for a millimeter on an offside. I find the whole thing hilarious tbh Get in Forest.
Id rather they took 4 minutes and got to the right decision that 1 minute for the wrong one. Semi automated should hopefully speed it up when that comes
It’s a load of ****e. Nitpicking at its finest. If it takes 4 minutes to decide whether someone is offside or not that tells you all you need to know.
100% correct mate. VAR should have a 20 second limit to make the call, same as the cricket captains have a time limited window to send a decision upstairs for review. In fact I'd prefer it if they put the onus on the team captains and gave them 1 review each half and make them make the call to review the decision rather than the officials.
