I don't think Varane's through ball was given any credit, which was perfect, and apart from Cook would be my MOTM
Another very good defensive performance, despite Ashby who looked lost. Varane stood out again for me.
The boos at the end would suggest this, I think their fans expect a bit more from their team but they outplayed us today albeit without creating an awful lot
I'm not sure they outplayed us. We defended really well and didn't allow them to create anything. Having said that, apart from Smyth's miracle goal, we were never going to score. We really are awful to watch.
I think we have to accept we are going to be under the cosh in many away games and Marti has made us difficult to play against, a matter of waiting for the January window to hopefully bring in a couple of players to make a difference. Definitely not pretty but pretty effective and 12 points from 6 games beats the 10 points from the first 15 games! It's going to be the annual slog to reach 50 points...
Well, if I were a Bristol City fan I’d be pretty pissed off that my team couldn’t make any decent chances against us. But I’d also be relieved that my team didn’t play like QPR. Still, beggars can’t be choosers I suppose, and once again all we can focus on is points not style. Clearly, apart from Norwich which of course I missed, we no longer have any ambition to play with a high press and keep the ball. Cifuentes has obviously compromised big time on his tactics, which was probably necessary with the talent available. What happened to the team that destroyed Leeds a few months ago?
Good football and lose, or ****e football and get points? Surely sooner or later it's got to all click and we put on a show. Think we're very disjointed at the moment due to the injuries and the lack of depth in the squad, meaning we can't rotate players in three game weeks. Some of those out there today looked goosed after 15 minutes
Absolutely robbed a point there. Awful to watch as we have been for the vast majority of the season. The tactics Marti insists on using are beyond ridiculous now. Is he incapable of doing anything but this isolated striker ****. The ironic thing is, we get totally outplayed in midfield aswell but that's mainly down to the 2 Danes (depending on which one starts) who really are abysmal.
Another point of view is, a month or so ago, we were rock bottom……. Now there are six teams below us.
Yeah three wins and three draws from six. If the results come I don’t mind if it’s with eleven men stood on the line as it felt like today mostly was. Horrible journey back and horrible performance. Take the point and forget it ever happened.
If that’s the plan I hope we will be told in advance so I won’t waste my time actually going to watch.
It wasn’t all bad. We scored a goal and.. erm… Saito did well to win a corner which we obviously just chipped to the first defender.
