In 52 years of going to Loftus Road (some long gaps in attendance) I’ve sat in the SA Road Stand 4 times. For the first ever game, which was great but the sun shone in our eyes, in a box once when my old man was invited which we both hated must be early eighties, and more recently for two friendlies against Birmingham and a couple of years later Leicester when there was no choice. In the seventies we had season tickets in what was then the brand new Ellerslie Road Stand, W block I think, and since then I’ve always gone for the Loft. School End once, for Brixton R day squad meet up. Never felt unwelcome anywhere, but prefer a bit of noise around me, which the standing zone in the Lower Loft is good for, partly because it’s a younger bunch (I ruin the demographic). There’s a lot of swearing but much less moaning and amateur analysis. Plus having blood circulation in my legs is a bonus. The away support sounds loud to you because you sit next to them. Frequently can’t hear them at all in the Loft. When I go to away games I always think our fans are outstanding, very loud and constantly singing, but wonder whether the home fans elsewhere in the stadium notice. When I get a chance to ask we have usually made an impression, we is nice to know.
A bit of noise is fine, but I like to think we're more discerning. I'm not convinced we really are the finest football team the World has ever seen.
Yeah, he livens things up a bit. Unfailingly greeted with, 'Who's the ****er in the hat?' by the away fans.
Saw him in the nice Syrian restaurant on Uxbridge Road recently. He carries it in a bag for life. I imagine he’ll be buried with it. Nice bloke, bit mental.
Weathering a bit of a storm here, high press not having a desired effect , they are just bypassing us
